TUSCALOOSA, Alabama - Jim McElwain appeared within a few pen strokes of landing at Memphis, but today remains Alabama's offensive coordinator. 

Memphis held an emergency meeting Wednesday, and decided to hire TCU assistant Justin Fuente. There were conflicting reports about what happened between McElwain and Memphis. 

Meanwhile, there was little news on Kirby Smart after he reportedly interviewed with Texas A&M.
