Hanson is making a beer. Called MMMHop. For real. By Jean Bentley6:55 a.m. PST, December 1, 2011While the Hanson brothers aren't in the spotlight like they were in the late '90s, the band of brothers have continued to make music for the past decade and a half. Now, the trio is branching out into a new industry: Beer.Apparently, Isaac, Taylor and Zac are trying their hand at brewing with a new IPA due out in 2012 called -- wait for it -- MMMHop. Yes, a homage to their earworm of a 1997 hit, "MMMBop."According to Contact Music, the band announced their plans at a talk at Oxford University in England, with youngest brother Zac saying, "What is vital is that Hanson merchandise is quality and not made solely with the purpose of profit. We have a board game and even a record player to play our last record on, but we will never make dolls, lunch boxes or toothbrushes that play our songs for example. It's vital our fans have trust in everything Hanson do. In fact we are soon going to be selling our own beer, I'm not even joking. MMMHop IPA, anyone?"Since this is obviously the greatest name for a beer in the history of ever, we decided to come up with a list of other pop star-inspired alcoholic beverage we hope to see on liquor store shelves eventually.
