Since it's more likely due to him leaving on his own accord, and in the opinion of this island, would be the better change.

I would like to see Gus.

If he doesn't hang around we could do worse than following his tree and going with Greg Peterson at Tulsa.  He's had good success at Tulsa and Colorado State and was tutored under Bill Snyder at Kansas State.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

Agree on Gus.  Don't know anything about Peterson.

Chad Morris (Clemson).

The reason you are on that island alone is because our offense has only been inept one year out of 3. Whereas defense has gotten progressively worse since Roof's arrival.

Total Defense:
Year            Rank
2011           78th (405.5 YAPG) [79th in scoring defense allowing 29.33 ppg]
2010           60th (368.4 YAPG) [53rd in scoring defense allowing 24.1 ppg]
2009           68th (374.4 YAPG) [76th in scoring defense allowing 27.5 ppg]
2008           29th (317.8 YAPG) [14th in scoring defense allowing 18.0 ppg] Tubs Last Year

While on the Offensive side

Total Offense
Year            Rank
2011           104th (328.2 YPG) [82nd in scoring offense 24.3 ppg]
2010           7th (499.2 YPG) [7th in scoring offense 41.2 ppg]
2009           16th (431.8 YPG) [17th in scoring offense 33.3 ppg]
2008           104th (302.2 YPG) [111th in scoring offense 17.3 ppg] Tubs LY

This alone leads me to believe it is more likely a personnel issue on the offensive side and a coaching issue on the defensive.

Chad Morris (Clemson).

I went with the smaller school guy, Clemson looks like they are starting to be willing to pay to play so we might not be able to lure Morris away.

Why not give Luper a shot at OC?  How about the guy at Okie State, Monken?  Their O is a thing of beauty.  Call me crazy but I would love to see Al Borgess come back.

Prattville High School's OC. He's young but it's a chance to catch a real up-and-comer before the Bammers get in on him.  :poke:

Okie State is pretty much running the Air Raid, a la Mumme, Leach, Franklin, Holgerson.   You really want that back here?

If it runs like it does out there, then yes.

My first choice wouldn't be him, but he is a hot name right now.

There are those that claim it can't be run that way in the SEC.  Gimmick offense they call it.

I haven't seen much of it, but I hear coaches going on and on about what Mazzone has done with his version of the spread at Arizona St.  They are 25th and 26th in Total, and Scoring offense, but in a conference that plays no defense.

I also wouldn't mind Borges coming back.

Another offense that is pretty much pure Air Raid.  And, by the way, I'm not disagreeing with you, or the suggestion on the guy from Okie St., just pointing out what they are, and you know what comes if you hire guys like that.
