Look here fudgeer.  It was not futile.  I needed to go.

Let's hope that it was some hapless LSU fan (or their corndog kid) who found the "fudge" that you left in the bed of that pick-em-up truck.

WTF ever.  You had your face covered.  Garman is the one who had the decency to get out of Cracka 1 and bring me wiping material.

You did however have hand sanitizer for me though.
True friends.

I did drive off...quickly because every time we get together, Sani says...."I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part!"

And he means it.
It's a gift...  Besides, the weekend wouldn't be complete if we're not leaving (or taking) some sort of evidence of our mayhem behind.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Well, it was great to see Snaggletiger there.

The rest of you guys suck...but on a serious note I do hope that your ill children are getting better.

Sani, GarMan, and I drove down in Cracker 1 that morning after having enjoyed several, traditional Screwdrivers before-hand.  GarMan and Sani were fairly-well hammered by the time we got there.  Kudos to Snaggletiger (and his brother-in-law) who were brave enough to show up and join us at Momma-G's.  Good sammiches, great company, but I'd have preferred a Jack and Coke instead of teh beer.  Sani made up for that at the game by bringing the "cushion" along.

I was disturbed to see that "Standing Room Only" tickets were the only ones available (at a reasonable $15.00 each compared to the $185.00 cheap seats at the Dean Dome); but, even more disturbing were all the empty seats!  Since they were available though we made ourselves at home into some very exceptional seats about 15 minutes into the game.

I want to say that the new basketball venue is also exceptional; not too big or too small.  Auburn should be proud of it.  My only problem was not seeing ANY banners hanging in the rafters.  (I'm used to seeing banners in the rafters; this flaw bothers me...I think Lebo should be fired.)

Anyway, a good time was had by all (and GarMan got a nice nap in); nothing got stolen and there was no puking on Magnolia Ave.  And, as always, with my visits to Auburn I feel at home and part of the Family.  The rest of the story will have to remain amongst those of us who were there.

You no-shows suck.

Sorry,  I tried.  I was actually looking forward to it.  I have heard from a little birdie that we actually look a lot alike, act and think a lot alike.  I was wanting to verify this for myself..................You sure you aren't from North Alabama?   Have family there?

Kid is a lot better, he is tough.  His mom and dad are not so tough.  I wasn't finally over the stomach pain and body aches until about 2:00 this morning.  My dad came out and babysat yesterday.  Which was cool with him b/c my son loves his "Paw-Paw".  Too bad he now has this shit.

Oh one thing I did want to mention was whilst on travel this week, we had a couple of hours to spare and went to Chancellorsville Battlefield Park/Museum.  Stood in the spot where General Jackson was shot and the spot where his body fell from the horse.  All I could think was "those damned North Carolinian's thinking it was a Yankee trick!!???!, no wonder they have a goat for a mascot!"    :)

Well, I was looking forward to meeting you and GH2001 but we'll have to do it another time at a football game or maybe a baseball game this summer.  Can't say that I wasn't disappointed that you two bailed but family should always take priority.  And, if we look alike then you have my sympathy.

No, I don't have any relatives in North Alabama that I know of; I can't recall ever visiting there other than a trip or two to Bamaham (which probably doesn't count) and I recall doing a motorcycle ride with a friend of mine in the Little River Canyon area I think is where it was; I recall going through Menlo, Georgia to get there; real pleasant looking country there.

Most of my family are around the Piedmont area of North Carolina (Winston-Salem, Pilot Mountain, Pinnacle, King, Mt. Airy), along with Chapel Hill, Raleigh, and Charlotte.

As I've said; I have paid my respects to the General at his grave in Lexington, Virginia; at the burial spot for his arm in Orange County, Virginia; along with a moment of silence in the Lee Chapel at VMI.

Secondly, I had no ancestors who fought in the 18th North Carolina Infantry regiment who allegedly shot him.

Thirdly, they were following his own orders when they challenged his foraging party.

And fourth, it's not a goat...it's a Ram...and it has a name...Rameses.

We're going to have to have some words about this when we ever meet.   :poke:

Shit no sympathy needed.  If we look alike, then you must be one handsome son-of-a-gun.  (no VV homo)  Besides Auburn, North Alabama is the best part of the state.  :)

Glad that your kid is getting better.  If you'd eat more vinegar like we North Carolinians do then you'd be healthier.

All BBQ sauce must have vinegar, it's a rule.  And most of the time, Vinegar, a little salt and sugar, a hint of cayenne, some crushed red pepper flakes and splash of water is the best finish out there.

And then you insult me and my Native State.

As I've said; I have paid my respects to the General at his grave in Lexington, Virginia; at the burial spot for his arm in Orange County, Virginia; along with a moment of silence in the Lee Chapel at VMI.

I chuckled heartily at this.

When we do meet we should discuss the "War of Northern Agression".  I will be the first to admit (shamefully) that I know the highlights and a few tidbits, but not a Civil War Historian.  I studied it in Us History in HS and again my Freshman year of college, but never an advanced course.I taught it once in 11th grade US History, but didn't get to get in depth as I wanted to.  I am more of a WWII European Theater man myself.   I have a ton of books on it, but just haven't dedicated the time needed to fully get into them.

Adding spices, marinades or sauces prior and during food preparation is one thing, but basting BBQ with external flavorings after it has been prepared is not Cookin'...  Here's a little more sauce for you.
