You're a fuckin' dumass. With the way the game was going, the uat defense was shutting down LSU's Offense. Also, there's a higher percentage that the FG try would get blocked than a punt (wait...y'all did have a FG get blocked then returned 20-30 yards). Keep trying, you'll get it eventually.
But, what if the punt got blocked and returned for a TD?

Like I said, it's OK until it doesn't work, then it's stupid. In those situations given, all the options you have just about even out. A FG gives you a chance to at least score some points. I can see why they chose FG. We can sit here all day and debate it. But to say the HC and OC "choked" for chosing FG? Whatever.

Believe me, I want to be pissed about it. I want to point some fingers. But when it's 4th and 17 or 4th and 20 inside the 35, and they go for it? Against LSU's defense? When Alabama seems to hit a wall offensively anytime they get around the 30? I would have gone fucking nuclear.

Unless it worked. Punting would have probably yielded the same results as the missed FGs. At least with a FG you have a chance to score points. I don't know why that's so hard for you to understand, other than it doesn't fit in your little "Saban is a moron" box.

You must have watched a different game than I.  I saw two great defenses, and two offenses hobbled by lack of QB play.

If Bama had White Cam at QB, they would have won.

Can any of you explain to me how Arkansas potentially upsetting LSU puts Bama back in the SEC CG? Doesn't LSU still hold the tie-break over Alabama at that point?

Not gonna happen, but if Arky beats LSU and the three end up with a 3 way tie, the tie breaker would be the BCS rankings.  Bama would still have to win out and hope that Arky beating LSU would put them above both in the final rankings.

But like I said, Arky won't beat LSU.

If each of the three are 1-1 against the others, then there is no head-to-head tiebreaker.   The tiebreaker then is BCS ranking, and the turds did not fall behind the hogs (in the polls, at least).  So the reasoning is that if the turds win out, they would maintain position ahead of the hogs, and LSU would fall behind them due to a loss to Arkansas.

If Arkansas beats LSU that should push them in front of bammer.

But....

Quote
"5. The highest ranked team in the first Bowl Championship Series poll following the completion of SEC regular season conference play shall be the representative in the SEC Championship Game, unless two of the tied teams are ranked within one spot of the other in the BCS poll. In this case, the head-to-head results of the top two ranked tied teams shall determine the representative in the SEC Championship Game."

Even if Arkansas beats LSU, they would have to be ranked 2 or more spots ahead of Alabama or the head-to-head between Bama and Arky would put Bama in.

I'm not in favor of a rematch for the BCS, so this is what I'm hoping for.  Arky sucks on the road, but I'm still hoping they'll beat LSU.

I hope Arkansas beats LSU giving Bama the false impression that they're automatically in the SECCG.

Then we crush their dreams in the Iron Bowl.

BCS just came out.

One spot. One fuckin' spot, Bama dropped.

Still ahead of Stanford, which is utter lunacy, and Boise.

Why does Bama's loss to LSU not count but Oregon's does? I mean Oregon's just so...fast...

It still counts, just probably less impact due to when it was played. When Oregon played them, LSU was #4 in the AP and Oregon was #3. Oregon lost to a lower ranked team. It was the first game of the season, Alabama's schedule to date is tougher, it was #1 vs #2, etc etc. Do you really think Alabama should fall to #11 behind Oregon in the BCS just because both lost to LSU 8 games apart? I'm not necessarily saying #3 is an obvious placement that shouldn't be questioned, I just think using Oregon is a bad example.

Btw, punting would not "probably" yield the same results of a missed FG at the 33+ yardline. Punt into the endzone, the get the ball at the 20 (13+ yard difference)...or down it inside the 10-15 yardline. The coaches lost that game, not just on the stupid FG calls with kickers that can't make them. But also with play calling, LSU still hasn't covered tRent out of the backfield.

I hope MSU & Auburn stop uat outside the 30, because that's were the MSU or Auburn offense will start (after the missed FG).

"Because of when they played them" is exactly why they should be ranked higher. Maybe not higher than Bama, but certainly neck and neck. I thought the conventional wisdom was "if you have to lose games, lose them early"? They lost the first one, and regrouped. No they haven't played an incredibly difficult schedule, but if they managed to beat Stanford, then yeah, I'd say put them ahead of Bama. The most impressive win on Bama's schedule is probably Arkansas.

Bottom line, they should be behind any unbeaten.

I would go
1. LSU
2a. Oklahoma State
2b. Stanford
4. Boise
5a. Alabama
5b. Oregon
5c. Oklahoma

And I think that's generous for this week's BCS poll considering they JUST lost this weekend.

Boise is undefeated with a win against the team that has locked up a division of the SEC. And they beat them good. They've got to get in line behind the unbeatens. Hell Houston should probably be up there. The only thing hurting them is Cal is their best win, which is sad. To me, that's different than a team that has beaten the SEC East Champion. I've been anti-Boise for years, but this is the year I feel like if they're one of 2 or less unbeatens (not counting Houston), then they should be in the game.
