Tried a new one last night and actually drank it without DCP. Angel's Envy. Let it socialize with a few cubes first. Smoothest bourbon I've evah tasted.

The state of Alabama sucks monkey balls for many reasons and I have another one to add to the list.

It doesn't have these:

Purchased two 4-packs of Kentucky Barrel Ale, a bottle of Bulleit, and a bottle of Jameson - not the small bottles mind you - and only spent $71 total.

It didn't really hit me how cheap the prices were until I had already left. I didn't get a chance to go back.

Holy shit...Blanton's, well worth the $50, smoothest Whiskey i have ever tasted. Very dangerous how good it is.

Michter's is also very solid!

Just opened the Bulleit.

I now understand the difference between bourbons that mix and bourbons that are straight. Jim Beam may never spend an evening alone with me again.

Found a bottle of Elmer T. Lee on a recent trip to Chesapeake, VA. I had my first sampling last night and it was outstanding. Elmer is made with the same mash bill as Blanton's, only not aged as long. The similarities in taste are undeniable. I paid $27 for this bottle, or roughly 19/32nds the price of a bottle of Blanton's. If you ever see it, buy it!

Same distillery makes Buffalo Trace, which IMO is the best budget bourbon. They also make Pappy's & Sazerac Rye.

My bar's currently got a bottle of Buffalo Trace, Blanton's, Woodford Reserve, & Bulleit. (Also Sazerac & Jack Daniels)

Went by the liquor store on Saturday to pick up some delicious Old Forester and decided to try a bottle of this. As you can tell by the picture it was good.

Haven't reviewed in awhile been drinking Michters Rye and Bulleit (orange) Bourbon as of late.

Decided to try some new stuff...

Bowman Brothers
Picked this up at ABC in preparation of Uncle Sani and Garman visit.
I give it a solid B+
Cost is $39 decent for the quality. Smooth, not real strong. Definitely worth a try.

Breaking and Entering Bourbon
Again picked up in preparation of upcoming ~~circle jerk~~ visit.
C+
Again cost was around $33.
Not overly exciting, fairly smooth, I wouldn't get again.

Michter's Unblended American Whiskey (the Blue Label (far left))
I am not a tried and true Rye guy, I usually prefer bourbon. However Michter's Straight Rye is the exception to this. I have reviewed the rye before and it has become one of my top shelf buys. Cost anywhere from $39-$45.
Because of this I decided to try the Unblended American Whiskey

I give it a B possibly B+ it's a bit sweeter than the rye and as smooth, but it doesn't have anywhere near the complexities of the rye. Definitely worth a try if you see it around.

However in my opinion the Rye is still where it is at for this particular label of whiskey's.

While the young Tiger's have been busting their tails on the practice field I have been prepping my liver for the long season ahead.

Bulleit Rye: Primarily used for Old Fashions

Lacerny: Wanted to try in in the place of Elijah Craig(our house bourbon). Certainly a good bourbon but it will not replace E. Craig in the regular rotation

Willett Pot Still Reserve: Very smooth and tasty drink. This one disappeared quickly. Not quite sure on why my wife insisted on keeping the bottle after it was empty...

While this is not Bourbon, this is my drink of choice these days.
