Paul Parker, who was hired as an Auburn associate athletic director in the compliance department three months before his former school was placed on NCAA probation, has resigned to enter private business, Auburn said Wednesday. This is his last week.

Parker was the compliance director at Georgia Tech during an NCAA investigation that resulted in the school's football team being placed on four years probation in July for major rules violations. The NCAA said the Georgia Tech compliance director "omitted key information and embellished other information" when he wrote the ACC office seeking guidance on whether two players should be declared ineligible. Georgia Tech was also fined $100,000 and had to vacate its 2009 ACC title.

He's one of six members of Auburn's compliance staff.
