I do like teh pee wees, but I currently coach at an AISA High School.  The HC is good buds with Reggie.  Why, I don't know, the header is a bammer from hell.  A couple of weeks ago Reggie sent us a huge box full of cleats for free.  Some new, some seconds/blemish.  Kids got to pick up anything that would fit for free. 

He and a couple of his NFL cohorts are currently thinking about making a sizable donation to aid in building us a new sports complex.   

It was completely unscripted, and unplanned on his part.  He talked about all the guys he'd seen along the way with major talent that couldn't just do as they were told/coached, couldn't follow rules, and didn't understand team, or how their behavior had an effect in others.  About how he was not the biggest or the fastest, but he was smart enough to be where he was supposed to be, and know his job.  Nothing earth shattering, but hopefully it impacted at least one player...we have a bunch that need that type of impact.   Very genuine, and down to earth guy.  I was impressed, and proud he's an Auburn man.

Well, we had "equal time" this week too.  Shaun Alexander came to speak to our team.  Fuckin' shit this fuck said all of the following before he ever said anything about "his relationship with Christ"...

I was the best HS player of my recruiting class...

I had 100 TDs in HS...

I had 50 TDs in College...

I was the MVP in the NFL, which make ME the greatest player in the world...

I have a hot wife...

I have loads of money...

When I went to Seahawks parties, the owner knew who I was, and didn't know my buddy who was an undrafted free agent...

Then proceeded to tell the young men I did all that to glorify God.  Not that God gave him the ability, or blessed him, but like he was "the man" and giving credit to someone else.   He gave his "3 points for success" after talking about how great he was...#1 was "Put God first"...though he never tied in exactly how God factored in to his life.  I've heard a lot of these kinds of talks, but this one rang as hollow as any I've ever heard.

The HC, who I have said already is a raging bammer, actually agreed with me.  I said "So, I wasn't listening with Orange and Blue glasses, Shaun really is all about him some Shaun, and Shaun's accomplishments"?  He said, "yeah, that's what I heard too".
