Former Alabama recruits?

Are you SHITTING me?   They're going to take credit for Clowney and Crowell because they recruited them?

Quote
Former Alabama recruits Jadeveon Clowney and Isaiah Crowell were two of the Crimson Tide's biggest targets for its 2012 signing class.
Both signed national letters of intent with other schools both opting to stay in their home states: Clowney with South Carolina, and Crowell with Georgia.

What about former Auburn recruits ...uhhh... every player in the country?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Alabama was never in serious contention for either, were they?  Is this like the "we almost signed Tim Tebow" deal?

Quote
Despite missing out on Clowney and Crowell, Alabama still walked away with what most recruiting analysts considered to be the top signing class of 2011.

True.  If by "most" you mean none.

Clowney was a no go.  I think Crowell strongly considered.  But your point stands either way.

That's sad, I can understand it if it's coming from a fan on a message board, but from a fucking beat writer? That's just....sad.

Meanwhile our beatwriter is telling us he's not impressed yet and we're still going to lose tons of games.

Oh yeah, and the Birmingham News is just an Auburn propaganda rag. Any good Bama citizen should boycott the paper.
