Quarterback question
« on: September 12, 2011, 10:44:58 PM »
When was the last time two former Auburn quarterbacks started the season opener  for their respective teams in the NFL?

I can't think of that ever being the case.  I can't remember AU having two starters simultaneously active, actually.

Also can't think of the last time Alabama had two starting QBs in the NFL.  They've had a few over the years, Starr, Stabler, Namath, Rutledge but none since the late 70s, or am I missing somebody?

Your answer is never.

I saw that stat on twitter earlier this week.

I'm curious is there any other school with two starting NFL quarterbacks? If not, when was the last time there was?

Leinart/Sanchez during some week when Warner was injured perhaps?

It's a stretch.

You can keep a wooden stake in your trunk
On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.

So for this year we have:

Auburn (Newton, Campbell)
Michigan (Brady, Henne)
USC (Sanchez, Cassell)
Purdue (Breeze, Orton)
Boston College (Hasselbeck, Ryan)

It amazes me that 10 of the 32 QB's in the NFL came from 5 schools.
