Auburn, Ala.--Juniors Antonio Coleman and Sen’Derrick Marks have been named to the 2008 Bronko Nagurski Watch List, the Football Writers Association of America announced on Monday.

Antonio Coleman and Sen'Derrick Marks are two of 88 players named to the watch list for the award that goes to the best defensive player in college football. The award, which is sponsored by the Charlotte Touchdown Club, has been presented since 1993 and is awarded in memory of the legendary Nagurski, a former All-American lineman at Minnesota from 1927-29 and a star for professional football’s Chicago Bears in the 1930s.

Coleman led Auburn and ranked fourth in the SEC in tackles for loss (18.5) in 2007, and his team-high 8.5 quarterback sacks tied for fifth in the conference. He finished the season with 38 tackles (29 solo, nine assists), three pass break-ups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Coleman and Marks were a formidable duo for the Tigers at the end of the season.

Marks had 43 tackles (20 solo, 23 assists) during the 2007 season while starting all 13 games. He had nine tackles for loss including a pair of quarterback sacks, seven quarterback hurries, two pass break-ups, a fumble recovery, a forced fumble and an interception. He also blocked two kicks.

The FWAA All-America Committee selects the Bronko Nagurski winner from the association's 11-man All-America defensive team in November. Players may be added from the Bronko Nagurski Watch List during the course of the 2008 season.

For the eighth straight season, the FWAA will select Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Players of the Week, beginning with games on Aug. 30 and running through the middle of November. A Bronko Nagurski Legends Award winner will also be selected from the FWAA’s 1967 All-America team.
