It Has To Be Just So....

Superstitions...I has them.  What has to be the same every time for Auburn to win?  Of course, the obligatory game shirt and cap goes without saying.  Has to change out every season.  I already found the cap at J&M a couple of weeks ago.  Sweet throwback with a frayed bill.  Going to pick the perfect shirt this afternoon.  I take personal responsibility for the 05' season.  Made the mistake of thinking the jersey I wore in every game of the 04' season still contained the same mojo.  Wore it to the GT game.  It didn't. 

If I'm at home, my fat ass can only occupy the edge of one certain chair while sitting.  That's in between standing, cussing and going all Steve Spurrier on the official game cap if Auburn screws the pooch. If we have people over and someone sits in that chair...they WILL get out of that chair.

What do you do to secure a successful Auburn Saturday?

My superstition is to do nothing.  If I try to pick up a routine, I feel like that makes us lose.

I think it stems from my days as a high school football player.  We sucked.  So just about every game, I would pray to God to help us win this one time. 

And we'd still lose. 

So in the days of my youth, I told myself that God made us lose because I was attempting to persuade God to intervene and make us win.

I still have the sweatshirt my wife gave me for Christmas back when we were still dating.  The first game I wore it to was the 1995 Iron Bowl.  After that, I deemed it the lucky sweatshirt.  If I ever feel Auburn needs an extra boost of mojo, I will break it out for another Iron Bowl.  It worked for me in 2002 and 2004, so it's gotta be good, right?
