I contacted one of Finebaum's regular callers, a forklift operator named Tammy Hethcox, whose taunts had helped push Updyke over the edge. She became an Auburn fan in 1973, when an uncle took her to the campus and an art teacher there showed her how to cross-stitch. Her family, including her father, pulled for Bama, but none of them were right, and she hated her daddy then and hates him now. "Mr. Ben, if Nick Saban is on the cover of your magazine in a suit," Tammy told me, referring to the Tide's head coach, "I'ma find you and lay on you a bad country ass-whooping." Then she unleashed Auburn's battle cry: "Waaar Eagle!"

I really hate them looking down on us.   And I hate Finebaum for making it possible.  The assholes he interviews for this are hardly representative of either fanbase.

It pisses me off when they try to even the playing field with this Updyke guy.

We have NO ONE like him.  Nothing representing Auburn is anything like that terrorist motherfucker who went ten miles over the line of good hearted rivalry.

Ben Austen should be ashamed for even attempting to bring anything Auburn into that report that was centered on Harvey Updyke.

There are several times a year that we travel for work.  I have had to defend this state more than once b/c people have tuned into his show.
