A view of finebaum from outside the state lines
« on: August 24, 2011, 03:22:15 PM »
I thought Finebaum was interesting at first. It was great to just have college football talk on the radio for my drive home. However, at this point I can't even listen to him anymore. It's the same garbage over and over. Auburn this and Alabama that. Same stupid callers every day saying the exact same things.

If Finebaum wants to be a local show fine. But if the guy is on satellite broadcasting to a national audience he definitely needs to broaden the show beyond just Alabama / Auburn smack talk.

Nail on the head.  That's exactly why I can't listen anymore.  Admit that I did last Wednesday for the Sherrydan circus because Auburn had a stake in it.  But now, it's a joke between me, myself and I to turn him on when I get to the car and guess the over under in seconds it will take for him or one of the same dumbass callers to say something derogatory or crack a joke about Auburn.

Damn.....12 seconds and I had the over at 15.  Oh well, try again tomorrow. ***Click***

I see the fun that you are having with that, but I can't listen at all.  I don't listen to the JOX network at all anymore and that sucks because I have a hard time finding out about AU football on the national shows.

Since I don't have Sirrius (sp?) radio or anything like that, we get one sports talk channel down here in the Circle City (Axis of the Universe).  He's on from 2-6.  I normally have it tuned to that station because I listen to our local guy in the mornings.  When I get back in the car after work, he's on and I start the timer.

Hey Paawwwl, you thank Trooper got that ole gal knocked up, don't cha'?

Well, I'll just let my silence speak volumes.

I know'd it.  Weren't no doubt that Trooper feller done put a bun in her oven. Hey Paawwwll...

I get asked (sometime) (wearing AU stuff) from the FEW folks out here that for whatever reason listen to him.

Is the entire state of Alabama that stupid?    I just

I'm really quite shocked he's lasted this long on Sirius/XM.  However, I did hear some idiotic Buckeye fan call yesterday to talk about how Auburn fans are delusional if we deny what "everybody else just knows, that Cam got paid".  Cited the fact that since they asked for money at State, he wouldn't have played for free...oh and "no way Cam didn't know what was going on".  "Auburn just got away with it".

And in my mind, I think: "It's funny how delusional people call in and call others delusional for not believing the things that the delusional fringe just wants to believe but has not one shred of evidence to support."

So, the answer is...there are elements of this lunatic fringe everywhere.

I heard some asscapacitor call in to WNSP yesterday to ask about Sheridan.

"Hay, I'm 50.  I known Danny Sheridan and I tell you one thang, you can take him to the bank.  Don't bet against Danny Sheridan. When the NCAA was about to come down on Alabammer, Sheridan got his source in the NCAA and he was 100% right in what he says about what gonna happen.  Wasn't nobody doubting his credibility then, WUZ they?

Tell ya somethin' else. Why come the SEC broke its own laws to let Cam play, huh?  They broke the bylaw."

Fucking hosts -- one of which is Randy Kennedy who reported the Sheridan contact with the NCAA (and was forced to admit yesterday that Sheridan and his lawyer called him to announce the contact) -- just bobbed their heads along with this clown.

Somebody followed up to tell them that Danny wasn't right about the sanctions, he'd predicted a "slap on the wrist" and that the SEC and NCAA had explained the eligibility ruling on several occasions, but some people just chose to ignore that and keep bitching.

Hosts said Danny was credible and that nobody had ever sufficiently explained the rationale behind letting Cam play.  Clearly a violation of SEC bylaws.

Slive went on Finebaum and explained the SEC bylaw thing.  Even hinted at the idiots wanting it applied to Cam, that if it was good for the goose it was good for the gander, and without saying it directly was talking about Julio and Ingram + fishing trips, Dareus + trips to Miami for parties, though Finebaum caught the hint.  The morons ignore it and drone on about Cam.

The morons ignore the fact that Emmert has flatly stated "it was an unsuccessful solicitation, no money changed hands", and keep claiming Auburn paid.  When it's pointed out that there's not one shred of evidence, the response are predictable..."They just didn't get caught" or "the investigations is ongoing, Danny knows the bagman, the NCAA told him, and he's going up there to tell them what they told him" or something to that effect.

Actually, it was another caller with the "delusional aubs" schtick that called in to correct us.  He was called up there to A: reveal the leak inside the NCAA, which he'd never do, and B: (according to Fbomb) he let slip the other day, but nobody caught it, when he said NOTHING, that he may know things about Auburn other than Cam, and the NCAA is interested in that.

And we're delusional.

Personally, I think the fact that the wiretaps had nothing on them, said volumes about how quickly the hammer's coming.  Also, Dyer being back at practice just means they have given up trying to hide anything because everyone already knows he's ineligible so what's the harm in playing him until the hammer drops?

If you don't believe any of that, you're delusional.

NO ONE out here other than a few really rabid LSU fans even know who Finescum is.  Big Used-To-Be Twelve people could not care less.

My husband drives a lot during business trips and listens to satellite radio to pass the time.  Carl generally tells me my orange and blue glasses make me see a conspiracy against Auburn at every turn.  However, he unhesitatingly agrees with me that Finescum is both a bammer homer and a complete douchenozzle.

Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall said, "Guys don't mind hitting Michael Vick in the open field, but when you see Cam, you have to think about how you're going to tackle him. He's like a big tight end coming at you."

I listented to him regularly since 01 up unitil the the last 3 years.  He used to have Dye on Monday afternoons during football season that I always tried to catch.  When they were bashing Mike Price and Shula it was some fun times, but when Saban was hired Paul got into bed with him and it's been ad naseum ever since.  I listened a couple years ago when he had Kirk Herbstreit on there weekly and Kirk was like who is this deuche, I've never heard of him.  The show is crap now in Mobile it only comes on from 2-4 then we get a local show.
