BATON ROUGE - Police investigating a fight outside a Baton Rouge bar last night said LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and other LSU football players are believed to have been involved in the disturbance.

EMS responded to a call at the location on East Boyd Ave. around 2 a.m., but didn't transport anyone to the hospital.

Sgt. Don Stone with Baton Rouge Police said Jefferson was implicated in the altercation, and witness statements implicated other football players as well. Jefferson was not arrested, and Stone said they are still investigating.

This afternoon LSU released the following statement from head coach Les Miles:

"We are aware of the incident that took place at an off-campus location at which some of our players were present. We don't know to what extent our players were involved. We are trying to gather as much information as possible to get a better understanding of what exactly took place last night."

News 2 will have more on this developing story tonight starting at 4 p.m. and online at WBRZ.com.

The general commentary from the corndogs I've spoken to around here is that they're happy this happened.

Bunch of nobodies they didn't want playing anyway.

Jefferson was the least popular of their 3 QBs. They're glad he's gone to make way for Mettenberger & Lee.

I think they're fucked, if for no other reason than Jefferson was supposed to be the guy and has been practicing with the ones this whole offseason.

Having limited knowledge of the LSU QB race...I would say I have to agree. Jefferson was fucking horrible. Jefferson is the only reason I believed that LSU would have 2 to 3 losses this year. He sucks.

Maybe, but he was the starter for a reason.

The most popular player on any team is always the backup QB.

I think that the most popular kid will be the third string QB in this instance...

For real. Frazier probably has to be the most popular 3rd string QB of all time and rightly so; the kid is good.

"bunch of nobodies there"? T-Bob A-Bear (sp?) isn't a "nobody", he's their starting Center.

Don't know who he is, but living here now where everyone has a French name, and judging from your phonetics, the correct spelling is Hebert.

T'Bob Hebert.  As in - Son of Bobby Hebert, former Saints QB and WWL radio announcer.

I wondered if there was any relation to the Cajun Cannon. I work with an Hebert also. I made the mistake of pronouncing his name "Hee Burt".

That's my dog's middle name, because when he was a puppy, he was all black and fuzzy, like "a bear".  So... Maximillian Hebert.

I am sure Bobby is so proud of T'Bob...

Yeah, I listen to WWL in the 5 minutes I drive hom from work, and they were talking about this. Didn't know he was talking about his own son. In fact, I think he was letting Deke do all the talking, if he was even there at all.
