It's all about TV markets, and those 4 teams bring more to the table than aTm and a team like GT or Clemson or FSU, places where the SEC already has a strong TV presence.

You get those 4 from the Big12, you're getting Houston and Dallas, you're getting all of Oklahoma, and you're getting Kansas City and St Louis.

Sounds like it's coming.   They've GOT to have a partner in this though... I just don't see how we bring in one team and have one division run with a team short on one side.

Agreed, and I don't think they will only bring one team. This whole thing has been a the dl for a while and I'd bet the SEC knows exactly who the other team is.

I do agree, also, on the fact that the SEC is fine where it is. I would really hate the best conference on the planet to get watered down by teams that have nothing more to offer than what the SEC already has.

I believe that A&M will come with another team smart enough to keep it under the radar and out of the news... but from outside the Big 12.   My guess?  VA Tech.  They fit the mold, fanbase, success, facilities and creeps us up the East Coast a little bit to balance the Western expansion A&M brings.

Others may follow (like 2 more), but those would seem the most likely to me.  HUGE TOTAL GUESS on my part though....

I could deal with VT.

A&M will probably be on par with the Mississippi schools, at least for a while. Better than the Eastern doormats (UK & Vandy), but not by much.

I like it for the big-picture.

A) They are well-rounded in all sports. Pretty good basketball & baseball teams.
B) Opens up the state of Tejas to the SEC. TV markets, blah blah.
C) As a result of B, I think their football team will eventually become the premiere team in their state. Much like UF eclipsed FSU & Miami. And they've got a hell of a recruiting base to work with. That will actually hurt other SEC teams, although I don't think that negative effect will be too  detrimental.

However, I don't like shaking up what I feel is pretty much the only perfect institution in college football, which is the current SEC divisions & interdivision rivals. The east has been kind of weak as of late, but that's a cyclical thing. Adding two more western teams won't help. Adding 1 more western team is even worse. Fucks up the whole balance.

I'm fine with that. Our division rival can be Alabama, and we can still play them and UGA every year.

But what does that do to Bama? They'd have to choose between us and UT. Assuming they go with us, UT will have to take one of the West Teams. I guess UGA gets the other? It'll cause some chaos for sure. Won't fit as well, IMO.

Adding VT is about the only way I can see this making sense...

First... Your new sig is tight...perfect... in many ways. 

Second, VT would probably LOVE to hand over the ACC to teams like Clemson, GT and FSU... Fuck'em.  Beating ANY of those teams does nothing (currently, outside of MAYBE FSU) to bolster your bowl bids, status and chances at a NC run if successful.  The bulk of ACC power happens in March Madness, not in the fall.

I think they know they're a football school in a basketball conference and would jump if they had the chance.

I vote for no change but if we were going to do anything, I'd vote for kicking out Vandy and then chain locking and bolting the door so they couldn't get back in.....pulling down the shade so they couldn't even look through the window. 

If we were adding two, I'd bring in FSU first and either GT or Clemson.  I think the rivalries between those 3 schools and many SEC teams are already in place and I think they're better fits geographically.  A&M or any other Big 12 school just seems to be a reach.
