RBU is gonna be fucking stacked in the coming years.

11 verbal commits, nine 4-stars...

Damn.

Would be interesting to see Auburn & Alabama's head-to-head recruiting record so far. And then think of Saban throwing one of his typical tantrums.

Quote
The Class of 2012 is shaping up to be a strong one in the recruiting hotbed of Memphis and one of the cities fastest-rising prospects is running back Jovon Robinson. The 6-foot, 220-pound playmaker battered his way through the competition last season and was one of the top performers at the BadgerSports 7-on-7 tournament in Tuscaloosa this spring.

"Alabama offered me recently, which was kind of a surprise to me," Robinson said. "They have liked me from very early on but I didn't expect them to offer me so soon. They are my first offer and I really haven't even heard that much from any of the other schools yet. It makes me feel really good that such a big-time program believes in me that much." Robinson, a two-way player for Memphis powerhouse Wooddale, has already made several unofficial visits to the Crimson Tide's campus and has developed a strong relationship with the coaching staff.

"I talk to Coach (Curt) Cignetti a good bit and he's a great guy. He talks to me a lot about the fact that Alabama doesn't just recruit talented kids, they also look for high character, guys that work hard in practice and in the classroom. I have always considered myself a hard worker and it's good to know there are probably a lot of guys at Alabama who appreciate that."

"Coach (Nick) Saban in a really straightforward guy. He doesn't like to mess around, he really gets to the point when he's talking to you and lets you know what he thinks. You can tell that he has a really clear idea of what he wants for his program and he wouldn't be recruiting you if he didn't think you fit into that plan." The rising-junior star said the Tide's style of offense is a major draw for any running back.

Dayum, the kid has some cuts, speed and the power to run over defenders. 6'1 - 218lbs is a great start for Coach Yox.

Bamer, UT and Arky sites are abuzz. All agree that AU is stacking up at RB and all find an excuse as to why Mr. Robinson verbally committed including grades and/or an irregular heartbeat. Bamer wanted Shell or Sanders anyway but not being a lawyer, I can only accentuate the positive and this is welcome news.

Also supposedly a given that Knile Davis is NFL bound after this season.

"Grades issues"....lmao, he has an offer from Vanderbilt.  Plus he'll have a full year to catch up on any issues that may be there.  Now, the irregular heartbeat thing, I don't know anything about that and I doubt the bammers know either...they're just trying anything and everything to justify losing out on a STUD like Jovon (btw, he's better than Barry).

I actually preferred Shell over Sanders but never saw Jovon footage until today. He doesn't slow on those nasty cut backs. Very unusual for a guy this large and he's a real chore to bring down.

I'd put Rushell Shell at the Top, with Keith Marshall right behind him.  I've got TJ and Jovon in my Top 5 and no...I don't wear O&B glasses for anyone that thinks I'm being biased. TJ would be the only one that I might drop outta the Top 5.

Well they all look great in high school highlights, but they should being the best.

...take a look at D. Henry, a 6'3 230 lb. back out of Yulee, FL.     -check out the size and speed of the defenders.

I have heard that Robinson has a lot of work to do in the classroom, in addition to his blood pressure issues this summer.  True, or Updyke grapes?

I have heard that Robinson has a lot of work to do in the classroom, in addition to his blood pressure issues this summer.  True, or Updyke grapes?

There's 104 days of summer vacation
And school comes along just to end it
So the annual problem for our generation
Is finding a good way to spend it

Like maybe...
Taking a class in
ancient religion
Or maybe just learn to read

Passing the class in just three days (Hey! )
You know he can learn with speed.
If Mr. Calloway
can pass in just three days
When he cannot find his brain (It's over here! )

You know that Jovon can
Pass even faster than
Brent which will drive them insane (Chizik! )

As you can see
There's a whole lot of stuff to do
Before school starts this fall (Come on Jovon)

So stick with us 'cause Chizik and Jovon
Are gonna pass them all
So stick with us 'cause Chizik and Jovon
Gonna pass them all!
(Pawwwl! Chizik and Malzahn are making a title run! )

If Calloway can pass an entire course in three days and everything's "peachy" then I don't ever want to hear of another student being academically ineligible.  Ever.
