Auburn linebacker Jessel Curry transferring to Delaware

AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn linebacker Jessell Curry will continue his football career at Division II Delaware, where he will be eligible to play immediately.

Delaware Online first reported the news.

Curry has not been actively participating in Auburn team functions since at least the middle of last season, but Gene Chizik never officially confirmed his departure.

"Jessel's got some personal issues that he's still handling," Chizik said at the start of the spring.

In April, Chizik denied reports that Curry was transferring.

"If any status of any of our players changes, I'll definitely let you know," he said.

Curry told the newspaper he was looking for a fresh start.

"I needed not just a location change. I needed an area change," he said. "I needed a place that was a little more personal...Coming here and seeing everything, it all came into place."

A well recruited prep player out of Buford, Ga., Curry played only sparingly in parts of two seasons at Auburn, recording nine tackles in six games in 2010.

His father Buddy was a former NFL player for the Atlanta Falcons.

Not to write this off or anything, but wasn't this kind of a foregone conclusion months ago? Anyone know what the kid's issue was?

Jessel has basically been out since Auburn flew to Arizona.  This isn't something new, at all.  I'm not exactly sure what the problem was, but he was in the "dog house" not long after his Freshman season.  I'm sure, tomorrow, fuckhead finebaum will dedicate atleast an hour of his show talking about it, pulling out quotes from this article...anything to paint Auburn in a bad light. He'll probably have the person that wrote the article on his show, Evan Woodbammer.

*word on da skreets* his attitude and ganja where the main reason why he was in the doghouse.

When I saw the kid on film I thought he would make a terrific fullback but he went to defense. I hope he gets it all worked out and wish him well. Jim from Tuscaloosa might shed some wisdom on his departure. Stay tuned.

I really wished that he would've worked out, he did a hell of a job during his Freshman year. I too thought he would've made a really good FB, he was very athletic...would've been a great pass catching FB in Malzahn's O.

I was under the impression that Curry had too many concussions, that being the reason he wasn't playing.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

This is all just part of the process.  Four gray shirts will be announced tomorrow along with 2 players being dismissed for undisclosed violations of team rules....but we wish them well.

That is what I had heard. And then there was some sort of discussion if he really needed to sit out and things just went downhill from there.

I can say that his time in the tool shed was short.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

You may be thinking about Spencer Pybus.  LB who had to give it up this past season because of concussion problems.  Could be Curry too.  I just never heard that about him.
