What kills me is all of these "shovel ready projects" that were being funded as part of the stimulus package last summer. The government wanted jobs created, and yeah, it probably happened. The only problem with that is construction is just like any other industry; when the work dries up, they lay people off. Construction is probably one of the more fickle industries in that aspect of employment. It might have looked good temporarily, but in the end, we're right back where we started; if not worse.
The government just can't create jobs out of thin air. It doesn't work that way. We can't spend our way out of this.
Shame on you! The Obama gives freely of his secret stash of money. Everybody knows that the government provides everything for us. Without the government, we are nothing. At least, that's what this current bunch of NAZI Democrats ultimately want.
You're exactly right. These shovel-ready infrastructure jobs do little to promote economic activity. They are temporary jobs that do not produce cash flow or growth of a company that spurs significant economic activity. Because they infused so much money into these jobs, we have all of these infrastructure jobs ongoing at the same time. Once they resurface a road, there isn't necessarily going to be more roads requiring resurfacing. When they're done with these current projects, they'll need to layoff many of these workers, unless they find more
secret stash money. This was really just a temporary bandaide to pay back some of his union thug constituents anyway.
