It's rumored to be true so stop bringing facts to the argument.

My doctor told me I needed to stop masturbating.  I asked him why, and he said, "because I'm trying to examine you."

This rivalry isn't even fun anymore. You can't even post a wild-assed rumor about a transfer without a rival coming in and bringing facts into it.

What's even funnier is how Prowler mentions that somebody at UA must be getting nervous, and then in the next sentence, gives the perfect reasoning why his theory is stupid.

And if he hasn't reported yet....just where is he?  Hmmm?  Answer me that. Does PEACHES have him holed up in an expensive hotel...in GADSDEN....next to a DODGE dealership....communicating from a new LAPTOP...that was purchased from the funds he got from selling TEXTBOOKS????

And where were you on March 22nd at 9:30 p.m.?

Oh yeah, this is getting better by the minute.

Was this before the fishing trip, or after the agent party where he was given handfuls of cash? Please be for clarifying.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I'm checking with my reasonably reliable source but I'm sure it was before...or after.

For the record? You have absolutely no idea.

This and the other "rumor" are textbook examples of the difference between legitimately believable stories being reported by "relatively reliable" sources, and dumb shit like this that gets started on the bunker. I heard about this possibly before Prowler did, but didn't post about it here, as it was obviously unsubstantiated. If you can't differentiate the two, I can't help you.

Another relatively reliable source told me that Prowler only posted this to piss you off specifically.

Honestly, I didn't even think this one even needed any comment to it. It was dumb on face value, and was made even more dumb by Prowler stating it, then basically shooting it down in the next sentence. Add to that the fact that the kid isn't even on campus yet made it even better to just sit back and see how far it would go.

For the millionth time, my only issue with the other "rumor" was the catchall thrown out there to create a conspiracy and explain away part of it if Grant didn't walk-on at AU, or if the whole situation never materialized. What makes it more amusing is that if he knew dick about anything, he would know that nobody can stop Grant from walking on at AU.

Just a question....and it has nothing to do with Callaway's eligibility or lack thereof.  Wouldn't most kids be on campus right now, going to class and doing summer workouts?

So a head coach can't deny a transfer? Furthermore, he can't add in stipulations such as not allowing him to transfer to another school in-state, or conference rival, etc.?

I'm fairly positive that whether you take a scholarship or not, you still have to be granted the transfer to enroll at another school, which, you have to do to be eligible to compete athletically for a college program. Scholarship has nothing to do with this.

Actually this reminds of a question I have always had. (No I already know that AWK is flaming)

I find it hard to believe that a kid could not enroll at whatever school he wanted to no matter if his previous coach granted a full release or not.
Scholarships are renewed annually so why does it matter.  If a kid tells Lord Sabinz or anyone else for that matter "fuck you, I'm leaving and going to Auburn" how is that any more of a breach than a school revoking his scholarship at the end of the year?  Kid still has to sit out a season if he transfers to another Division 1 school.
I say all this to say that I bet if anyone wanted to push it, a school could not make it stick.

I honestly don't know what the original intent was when they set the sitting out 1 year stipulation.  However, I think logic would say that it keeps rival schools from continuing the recruiting process (So to speak) after a guy is signed and playing for school A.  Otherwise, it would be like free agency every year.  Not happy with my role or playing time here so I'll just drive down the road here where they lose their top 2 cornerbacks.

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

Conditions of a release from a scholarship are made for a kid being released from one school's scholarship (School A) with the intention of immediately being on scholarship the second he enrolls at the school he is going to (School B). That is up to the school the kid is at (School A) what kind of conditions they are going to release him on. If Corey Grant wanted to walk-on at AU right now, he could tell Saban to shove it, and there could be nothing done to stop him; Grant would be paying his own way, and not on scholarship.
