Tejas?
« on: June 09, 2011, 09:20:26 AM »
Listening to sports talk on the way in this morning and the host said Rachel McCoy, Colt's wife, called in to Colin Cowherd's show and all but said players were receiving extra benefits at Texas.  Didn't hear the interview, just relaying what was said.  Anyone....?

AUSTIN — A day after the wife of former Texas quarterback Colt McCoy called a national radio show and suggested Longhorns football players are routinely approached by fans offering small perks and agents, UT athletic director DeLoss Dodds said the school is doing its "due diligence" to determine if any violations occurred.

Rachel McCoy, who last year married two-time All-American and current Cleveland Browns star Colt McCoy last year, made an apparently unsolicited call to ESPN radio host Colin Cowherd's show Tuesday and spoke for six minutes about boosters and agents. She didn't allege any specific violations and said her husband never accepted any gifts, but said some of his teammates had a more difficult time saying no.

A former track athlete at Baylor, Rachel McCoy thought some players didn't realize what constituted a violation.

"It's tough when there are things that could be handed to you that seem so minor," she said. "You know, a dinner, a hunt here or there, a fishing trip. Things like that that most kids don't even realize are illegal."

McCoy said players at UT also had to deal with contact from agents.

"I know (Colt McCoy) was approached quite a bit (by agents), but you know how Colt is, he can just kind of brush it off and can just kind of move on and not go down that road," Rachel McCoy said. "But I saw so many of his teammates, who just, maybe they didn't have that same kind of self control just to be able to say … to say no to somebody."

Wow.  What an idiot for going on public radio to claim something like that.

I think all schools need to band together and admit that this shit is going on everywhere.  What's the NCAA going to do?  Death penalty to all 120 schools?

Their Associate AD for FB Ops (Cleve Bryant) is one of the more corrupt figures in CFB. Even the UT faithful hate the guy. There has been scandal brewing for the last year or 2 about him and shenanigans in the UT Ath. Dept. most notably the FB program, involving money and hired hookers - I don't make this stuff up folks. It's just an allegation, but still - with what Lady McCoy is saying, makes one wonder back to this.

There was also a lawsuit involving Gloria Allred against Bryant last fall:

http://www.dallasnews.com/sports/college-sports/texas-longhorns/20101018-UT-investigating-complaint-against-athletic-official-2979.ece

Whether true or not, Bryant is universally known as a bad apple. So any of this being true wouldn't shock me. There is a certain culture of corruption that breeds around guys like Bryant.

"It's tough when my ugly ass husband gets all of the attention. I'm a blond with decent tits who ran track. Why is there no one talking to me on a daily basis. There are things that could be handed to meu that seem so minor," she said. "You know, a girl likes a massage every now and then. Maybe a manicure or two. Things like that that most people don't even realize make my day."

McCoy said players at UT also had to deal with contact from agents.

"I know (Colt McCoy) was approached quite a bit (by agents), but you know how Colt is, he blah blah blah . I'm blond and hot. Am I saying anything of any substance? It doesn't matter. I'm blond, hot and rich. Why won't anyone listen to me?"

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

According to HBO it only happens at Auburn. According to most media and fans, it only happens in the SEC.

I have to chuckle that after the fucking rectal exam that Auburn has been subjected to for the last 9 months, the only damning hard evidence is on the Big 10 (or 12?) poster child, and now it looks like the Big XII (or X?)poster child is about to get some dirt on them as well.

Nog we clean.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."
