I'm guessing Vandy suffers from being in a big redneck town like Nashville. Bama suffers from the same thing. And they are Bama anyway.

I can't see the actual list from my work computer, but I think Vandy gets disqualified for not being in a college town.  The same reason it doesn't count Columbus (Ohio St) or Austin (Texas).

You meet a man on the Oregon Trail. He tells you his name is Terry. You laugh and tell him: "That's a girl's name!" Terry shoots you. You have died of dissin' Terry.

You're so smart. You're obviously from Auburn.

Cities like Austin and Columbus and Boston have well-known colleges, but are also political and economic capitals, so they don’t make the cut. On the other side, we used a population minimum of 25,000, to avoid places with too much gown, not enough town.

College Park, MD at #10?  Wow.  This town is a fucking dump.  Every Monday morning, we hear about how many students were mugged outside of the Thirsty Turtle (which has now, sadly, closed) over the weekend.

If you can't rob drunk college students, who can you rob?

If this guy had picked someone who had the blind staggers he might still be on scholarship.
