Not so good news

Okay, I'm all for the swift kick to the curb by Chizik and maybe in quickly scanning through 5 pages, I missed the answer to my question. How did he come so quickly to such a decisive action as permanently dismissing them? Hey, if they did it...best of luck with your new cell mates. But did I miss where Chizik had already talked to them?

I'm assuming he had access to some concrete info pretty much establishing their guilt, but how did he get that in the few hours since their arrest? Not questioning The Chin and I certainly have nothing to dispute his decision. Just more curious as to how he knew to wash his hands of them without anything more to go on than they were arrested. Again, I've scanned numerous pages in the last 3 minutes so I may have missed it.

I think there are certain types of offenses that just the accusation alone is enough to warrant separation.

Armed robbery is one of those. This is not your normal get drunk, slapahoe offense. I don't think the victims' daddies will be coming out saying they deserved to get robbed.

I do think in the end, we'll find out that this was personal for one of the guys. I just don't buy that they would randomly rob someone without at least one of the four saying, "Whoa. This is insane".

Coaches dont have to be shown evidence to a legal standard beyond a reasonable doubt. If whats reported is accurate, thats more than enough.

Experience telss me either collecting a "debt" or someone had knowledge of a homie having a big shipment ciming in, or having just hit a big windfall. Wasnt no random target.

I would think it was like a morals clause in a coach's contract. Even having his or her name associated with something detrimental to the image of the University is enough to get a coach fired, guilty or not. Seems to me that Chiz has told the players on more than one occasion that they will either represent Auburn University in a positive light or they will not be representing Auburn University at all.

It's like I was telling my friend from out of town this morning, after I heard the news. It is so tough living around Auburn fans not knowing when a gun will be pulled on me with the hope of stealing my stuff.

I try to tell people this isn't how the state is, but he just shakes his head and says yes it is.

I am ashamed to be from this state sometimes with how you represent Alabama as a whole.
