Calhoun County investigators have released surveillance images of a suspect from an Alexandria robbery last week.

According to the sheriff's office Facebook page, the robbery happened at approximately 3:45 a.m. Thursday at the Mapco on U.S. 431 in Alexandria.

Witnesses said a white man entered wearing camouflage coveralls and a white hat with an "A" on it, demanding money. He then fled the store on foot, heading south.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the sheriff's office (256) 236-6600 or Crimestoppers at (256) 238-1414.

The Baltimore Ravens announced Friday that they are releasing backup nose tackle Terrence Cody, who is under investigation for animal cruelty.

Nose tackle Terrence Cody, who is under investigation for animal cruelty, was released by the Ravens.
A Baltimore County police spokeswoman said Cody has not been arrested. The Baltimore Sun reported that the animal cruelty case involves a dog.

Cody, a 2010 second-round pick, is nearing the end of a one-year deal with the Ravens and would have been an unrestricted free agent on March 10.

It was a week ago when Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the "threshold of tolerance" had changed after five players were arrested last offseason.

"It's a privilege to play in the National Football League," Harbaugh said on Jan. 10. "It's a privilege to be a part of the Ravens. There's a standard to uphold there, and we expect them to [do that]."

Cody, 26, wasn't expected to be re-signed as a free agent. Brandon Williams excelled in his first season as a starting nose tackle, and the Ravens have depth along the defensive line.

Last season, Cody played only one game after being on the physically unable to perform list for the first nine weeks of the season. His only season as a full-time starter came in 2011.

Is that even possible?

Dog was probably sleeping on the bed when Cody rolled over and nearly suffocated the poor thing with his giant titties.

Authorities are searching for the identity of a man who used a credit card stolen in a Jefferson County home burglary.

The break-in happened Dec. 9 at a house in the 5300 block of Briarwood Drive near Pinson. The homeowners told Jefferson County sheriff's deputies they left home for a few hours - from 1:20 p.m. until 5 p.m. - and returned to find the back door open.

Several items were stolen, said Chief Deputy Randy Christian. A short time later, a man used one of the victim's credit cards at a Kangaroo Express convenience store on Tallapoosa Street near I-59.

He was driving an older white Ford truck with a ladder in the back and was wearing a crimson cap with a white script "A", gray sweatshirt with some kind of design on it, blue jeans, and black shoes. Video surveillance from the store captured images of the suspect. Both the suspect and the truck he was in can be seen in the photos.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any information about this case is asked to call the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office at 205-325-1450 or CrimeStoppers at 205-254-7777.

A 19-year-old University of Alabama student was arrested Monday and charged with assault for allegedly hitting another man in the head with a wooden plank outside a fraternity house in January.

According to court documents filed Tuesday, officers were called to the Alpha Kappa Lambda house on Jefferson Avenue in Tuscaloosa around 2:30 a.m. on January 30.

The suspect, 19-year-old William Headly Harper, allegedly took a two-by-four wooden plank and struck the victim in the head as he walked away. The victim suffered temporary loss of hearing, a facial fracture and a ruptured tympanic membrane, according to the deposition.

Three weeks after the alleged attack, Harper has been arrested and formally charged with second-degree assault.

Harper's bond was set at $5,000, but he had paid that amount and was no longer in police custody Tuedsay.
