Quote
According to the criminal code of Alabama, obstructing governmental operations is defined by the following:

(a) A person commits the crime of obstructing governmental operations if, by means of intimidation, physical force or interference or by any other independently unlawful act, he:
(1) Intentionally obstructs, impairs or hinders the administration of law or other governmental function; or
(2) Intentionally prevents a public servant from performing a governmental function.
(b) This section does not apply to the obstruction, impairment or hindrance of the making of an arrest.
(c) Obstructing governmental operations is a Class A misdemeanor.
Drake is largely figured Alabama’s third best running back in a loaded backfield. He’s rushed for 975 yards and 13 touchdowns in two seasons, along with catching 12 passes for 135 yards and one touchdown.

We’ll update when new details are available.

Apparently there was yet another Tuscaloosa shooting last night. (At Kennedy's bar, which I'm assuming is on the strip?)

Skreetz (Twitter) saying this May be related to the Drake arrest.

Bama folk say he was yelling at police while they were arresting his friends so they arrested him.

But we all know who was behind this.  Two people.

Since January, all I've heard is that Drake is going to supplant the other guys.  He's the best back on the team.

Once arrested, however:

Yeah, it is basically being a dumbass. Loud talking. Interfering with a law enforcement function. Generally, it is referred to as "pissing off the police".

The local news this morning said that he walked past police tape and toward his vehicle, which was part of the crime scene.

That is widely regarded as a good way to go to jail. As many shootings as students encounter in T-Town maybe they should include a section about the dangers of mucking around in crime scenes in the student handbook.

Just being inside the city limits puts one inside a crime scene.

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

They didn't mention this on the news this morning, but the above article that Prowler linked to has also been updated to reflect that police even told him not to go into the crime scene...he ignored their orders and did so anyways.

It's questionable whether UA athletes are literate, so a handbook may not help, but even when they are made aware of what they're not supposed to do, they don't respect your authoritah!

I guess the cease and desist only applies to Tom's in Tuscaloosa.   :move:
