The Richt Cup is back again....
« on: February 08, 2011, 06:32:37 AM »
Starting RB Washaun Ealey was arrested last Friday for hit and run, $3,000 bail.  He has been suspended indefinitely.  Also, Caleb King is off the team too...So, good choice Crowell, I hope you don't get tired.

Sources: Washaun Ealey suspended
By Mark Schlabach
ESPN.com

Georgia running back Washaun Ealey, the team's leading rusher last season, has been indefinitely suspended from all team activities, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com Tuesday.

Ealey, who ran for 811 yards with 11 touchdowns in 2010, is being disciplined after failing to report for a punishment run last week, the sources said. Ealey, a junior from Stillmore, Ga., is banned from working out in Georgia's facilities or participating in any other team activities.

Ealey's suspension comes less than a week after the Bulldogs signed incoming freshman Isaiah Crowell, rated by ESPN Recruiting as the No. 1 running back prospect in the country.

Ealey was suspended from Georgia's 2010 season opener -- a 55-7 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette -- after he was arrested in August for leaving the scene of an accident and driving with a suspended license.

Ealey ran for more than 100 yards in three games last season, but he also lost key fumbles in losses against South Carolina and Mississippi State.

Georgia ranked 10th among the SEC's 12 teams in rushing last season, averaging 142.6 yards per game.

Senior Caleb King, the team's second-leading rusher with 430 yards and two touchdowns last season, was suspended twice in 2010 for off-field transgressions and was academically ineligible to play in Georgia's 10-6 loss to Central Florida in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.

So, he's being suspended indefinitely for something more than hit & run?
