Reading Chad Gibbs book God & Football.
Not what I expected, but definitely making me think. I see myself in many of the situations and there are some really interesting observations. Also some unintentional foreshadowing. It was written during the 2009 season.
One section he talks of praying as a child to be given supernatural athletic ability and promising to take every opportunity to give Glory to God if his prayer were granted. It wasn't, he says, apparently that prayer went to Tim Tebow. He then prays that if God ever makes anyone like Tebow again that he send him to Auburn.
Hmmm. Prayer granted?
But that's not why the book is interesting -- and sobering. If you haven't picked it up, you should.
