The mid season finale wasn't bad, although, I was thinking Rick and Daryl were about to empty out of the remaining hospital crew.
I've liked this season so far, but the show last night licked balls.
Why have the buildup to the handcuffed guy running away last week if all that was going to happen was him getting run down in the street in the first three minutes of the show? I realize it was designed to showcase how close to the edge Rick really is right now, but it seemed a waste.
Other things that were a waste:
Tyrese's big confession. It took six or seven minutes and his sister essentially blew it off. Why bother with that whole thing if it was going nowhere.
Beth. Give her a little bit to do and then murder her. The whole stabbing of Dawn thing was contrived. No way Beth takes the chance to start a bloodbath that gets everybody killed. The girl playing her wasn't a strong actress and (while hot) didn't add much to the show.
The Beth reaction. She disappeared early on and for all Mags knew, she had been eaten by walkers or consumed by a cannibal or fed to wild pigs. There was never even a moment of angst on the part of Maggie. Don't think she bothered to mention her sister at all or push for the group to go look for her. Can't remember if she even questioned Darryl about where she was.
Dawn. As far as big bads go, she was way down the list that includes the governor, Darryl's band of thugs, Merle, Garth (or whoever) and even Shane. If there really were rogue cops she would have just taken them out. But the show couldn't decide if she was a good guy making bad choices or a bad guy making good ones. So that all fell flat.
Armpits. How is it that all the girls on the show have shaved armpits? Is there an endless supply of Venus razors out there?
