None other than Mr. Al Borges is the new offensive coordinator at Miiiiiiichigan.

The high school coach of Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson said Wednesday he believes Robinson prefers to stay in Ann Arbor.

"I think if the right things are said at Michigan, I think he wants to stay," said Art Taylor, who coached Robinson at Deerfield Beach (Fla.) High School. "Will they put you on the edge and roll you out? Denard does not want to sit out a year."

Taylor said Robinson was to meet with Michigan coach Brady Hoke on Wednesday.

Robinson declined comment during the second half of the Ohio State-Michigan basketball game.

Taylor said he's heard offensive coordinator Al Borges can run an effective spread.

Taylor said Robinson would have gone to Florida or Central Florida out of high school, most likely UCF, had he not enrolled at Michigan. Taylor said he keeps three charged cell phone batteries with him at all times because so many college coaches have called him to see if Robinson will transfer.

"I told Denard to ask, 'What offense do you run and where do I fit in?' " Taylor said. "You run the offense to fit the personnel you have. Denard loves Michigan. He'll listen to what they have to say, but it is a tough decision."

I know I told this before and I don;t really give a shit.  I'm telling it again.

I was at a practice several years back. Walked around and watched Borges working with the QB's and it sounded like everything that came out of his mouth on each and every play was..."Fuck, you fucking fuck.  How the fuck do you fuck that up?  Fuck!!!"

Beside me was this guy and his son who was probably about 7-8.  He just pushed his son along and said, "Well, I guess you gotta' grow up some time."

I have a little different take on Al, but I honestly think it was more of a Tuberville thing than a reflection on Borges.  During his last season, Arkansas' DC (Herring I believe) said in a published interview that Borges was the most predicatble OC in the league.  That's not good.  That same year, among the family and friends etc. gathered at my pops home at Christmas, was a guy who was a graduate assistant working with UGA.  He said the very same thing.  He said Jawja knew pretty much every thing Auburn was running as soon as they lined up.  It showed too because that year, the Dawgs pounded our asses like a gang rape in a prison shower.

However, I often wonder how much of that stemmed from CTT keeping his foot on the brakes and forcing CAB to stay conservative.  He did have a slight tendency to do that.

It really was amazing to watch the difference in his "style" the last year or two.  The innovative playcalling consisted of 5 screens a game.  In his first year, there was more motion than a Vegas Pole dancer and while it wasn't Malzahn-esque by any means, you still had to cover all areas of the field or you were screwed.
