TCU seals an embarrassing New Year's for Big 10
« on: January 01, 2011, 08:09:29 PM »
Big 10  is 0-5 on Jan 1 with 2 blowouts by SEC teams, and one loss to a Non AQ team in the BCS.  They need to give it up!  Fucking weak!

The Lollerskates vs. Lollercopters Divisions.   Epic fail.

I find it amusing how Michigan St. has been whining to anybody who would listen about how they should have been picked for a BCS bowl, how they're going to prove it in the Capital One Bowl, etc. Maybe they have a point; they might not have got bitch slapped so hard had they played TCU. Oh, and it probably didn't help that the Spartan band was playing our fight song right before kickoff. That makes Mr. Upshaw angry, and apparently makes MSU QBs look like Jewish college girls to him.

Bama looked very good....and Meat Chicken State looked very bad. Put em together and you get a 42 point win - and thats taking their foot off the gas in the 4th.

This was the best the big 10 had to offer? Weak sauce all day.

Still want to talk shit that the SEC is down? The east may be down, but not the West boys and girls....not the West.

Thank God I'm not a big 10 fan.

A national championship is a wonderful thing, but if you're not enough without it, you'll never be enough with it.

I think Michigan St. is a bit overrated due to competition, but anytime an SEC team can prison rape a top 10 Big Ten team with only one loss, on national TV, I'll take it. While I thought we would win the game, I never imagined a beatdown like that. Nice to see what a couple of guys on defense are capable of when healthy.

A Bamer friend was reading MSU posts from his board during the game- made me cry.
At least Sparty was spared a sense of humor because Bama took everything else.
I don't venture off much but I wish I knew how to gain access  to the site of those dry musings.

Yeah, I saw a few MSU boards as well. Surprisingly enough, it's like they weren't even pissed off or anything. For the most part, they were all just like "WTF just happened?"

They all run together now but a blow-up doll was recommended at QB because at least Bama couldn't sneak-up on it.

I don't know if their QBs are just pussies, or if nobody in the Big 10 hits like the Alabama D, or what. I mean, I think an SEC QB could take those hits. It's not like we were hitting any harder than normal. They had to pull their first stringer due to a shoulder injury. Then the second stringer had to be helped off the field not too long afterwards. Then they threw to their 3rd stringer who was playing as a WR on a play over the middle and he had to be helped off as well.

Anybody who talks shit about the SEC needs to watch that game. It was like a showcase of why your team from another conference wouldn't last 1 quarter against an SEC caliber team. Well, OK, SEC West caliber team this season anyway. Reading the Michigan St. boards, alot of them are saying they would have been lucky to be bowl eligible if they played in the SEC if Alabama is any indication of the conference.

I can't recall so many going down so often in such an embarassing fashion. It was like a one sided old west saloon brawl...only there wasn't any tableclothes to crawl under so they just balled-up out in the open hoping no one would notice.

Ya think we have some new found believers in the SEC. I'd say pretty much all of the Big Ten. Ohio St is next in line so I hope the Hogs whip their asses.

I don't know if the Hawgs can flat out punk them, but it certainly wouldn't hurt my feelings if they did. Ohio St. actually has a pretty good D, despite their shitty schedule, so I'm a little curious about that matchup.

A pretty good D measured to whom? I certainly don't think it will be a blowout but after watching the other Big Ten champs fall on their face, I am expecting the Hogs to take care of business. I would love to see them just run it straight down the Buckeyes throat and break their will to play.

The SEC West is obviously carrying the league this year, in a dominating fashion.

Well, their defense is #2 in the country at this point. Even though they don't play a horribly difficult schedule, they could just as well be #100 in the country on defense if they were all that shitty. I wouldn't bet the farm on them winning because of that defense, but I won't disregard it while trying to make an educated guess either. We'll just have to see how they match up.

I think their #2 D ranking is skewed because of their schedule, I do agree its still hard to guesstimate how the Sugar Bowl will turn out. I certainly think that Arkansas is more battle tested. I do hope for and entertaining game though. The bowl games thus far haven't been very eventful in my opinion. We got four teams from the SEC yet to play, maybe we can 4-0 the rest of the way.

A win is a win.
The Big Ten honks have reverted to toting water for TCU as a consolation of sorts for their shoddy showing on New Years Day.

I can't imagine what they will grasp for if Arky finishes OSU off.

Looks as if  Auburn  really will be the center of hatred by Jan 10.
It feels good being the bad guy for a change.

I agree, the bowl games so far have been fairly disappointing. Part of the problem is you have bowls like the Vaseline Wild Monkey Sex Bowl around who don't care what teams are playing, and the teams are just happy to be there. I thought there were too many bowls before they expanded it a few years ago, for that matter.
