Malzahn to Maryland?

Coach Mike Leach was touring the Maryland campus today while Alum and former HC Ralph Friedgen was cleaning out his office. I wonder why the "media" (Schad, Thayer, Thamel, etc.) hasn't said one fucking peep how Maryland decided to basically shit on Coach Friedgen and force him out. Also, they aren't talking to any minority candidates. Just about the same situation at West Virginia.

Maryland's new AD = fail on you race baiting.

Second, Friedgen may have been cleaning out his office after the bowl game today, doubt it, but I don't know...doubt you do either.

Leach touring campus? Doubt you know that either. If he was, it's not like Friedgen doesn't know he's not the coach anymore, or that they're replacing him. It's business, and the new AD wants his guy in there. Not an uncommon move, and under the circumstances, it's not like he's running out a guy that was planning on staying forever, or is a true legend...he's just been allowed to stay at a program that is mediocre at best. He's moving out.

Also...I do know that Mike Leach was touring the campus....and that the 2 time ACC Coach Of the Year (2001 - swept all of the HC awards & 2010) was cleaning out his office. Sounds like Coach Pirate will be The Man at Turtle U.

Also, thinking the under armor CEO has a say in this and they may be wanting to be the new cool program, ala Oregon.

Yeah, true, he could hate black folks. However, not seeking a minority candidate doesn't = discrimination.

And you're correct on the Under Armor connection, I had forgotten that part. I had heard that this new AD has stated they're looking to breath new life in to the program with something exciting, like a prolific offense.

Missing the point.

It's ok for Maryland (and Florida, and Colorado, and Miami, and pretty much every coaching search this year).

But Auburn merely having a black candidate in their Top 2, but ultimately going for the other guy? We are a racist institution.

Nah, I get it. I just don't pay much attention to that kind of crap. Never discount the fact that the Tuscaloser News is owned by the NY Times when you factor in national media bias against Auburn, even if that information is not coming directly from the NYT...you can bet there's someone near to it helping drive information like that. How much media backlash was there against Bammer for eschewing one of their own in Sly Croome?

Terrapin is an anagram for Pirate & nr, which is very close to McNurra, so obviously the Malzahn rumors are a smoke screen so that Maryland can hire a different Auburn offensive coach to work with Leach. They just had to wait until after the bowl game so that Leach wouldn't be conflicted in having to beat East Carolina because he thinks they have the all-time awesomest mascot. It's all really quite apparent if you just look.

ESPN sent it out as a text alert, and typically they don't do that unless it's good info. It wasn't a "sources say" text, they flat out said done deal. I would hope that you picked up the sarcasm on the Malzahn remark.
