Coach Chizik was the HC at Iowa Fucking State. His Texas & Auburn Defenses were Top Notch. If a coach can't put together Top Notch groups together for their side of the ball...what the fuck makes anyone think that they can be any kind of good HC...the coach over ALL Groups on the team. BMF is not a CEO type HC, (he coached under Coach Belittle and Coach Tuberville), both of those coaches ran their style of defense, regardless of the DC. BMFer was finally going to run his defense at Texas, his defenses have become horrible in three short years....and that's with Texas' Juggernaut Recruiting Classes.
So, there's no comparison to Coach Chizik and Coach Muschamp.
At this point, Texas has the #7 total defense in the country. In 2009, they were #3. Muschamp's first season at Texas (2008), they were ranked #52. Jumping from #52 to #3 in the country is a pretty good leap. Texas has a horrible scoring offense this season, and their passing game sucks as well. Muschamp runs a defense very very similar to Saban's defense, and it seems to have worked out well for Texas so far. I don't know if you just don't know how to read numbers, or what. But to point out how over his head Muschamp will be while pointing at his defensive numbers the past 2 years is stupid, considering Texas has fielded top 10 defenses both years, and made a NC appearance.
You don't know what kind of HC Muschamp will be, and neither do I. I'm sure the transition will be rough, because I doubt he will keep running Meyer's spread. There will be some rebuilding, and Gator fans probably won't like it. The first season or two might be .500 type seasons. It really depends how much he is going to change the offense. There will be somewhat of a learning curve on defense as well, as his defense is complicated. I'm sure you will ignore all of that though, and do a victory dance if/when Florida isn't so good next year, though.
