If Corso is retiring...
1. Houston Nutt - Let's be honest. He's not going to turn Ole Miss around. He's not going to get hired at another big time program. He has a crazy personality much like Corso, and I think he would be willing to implement a new gimmick (see Corso's mascot head routine) to make the show entertaining.
2. Mike Leach - He wants to get back into coaching, but if he can't find a job after being fired from TTech, he could be a good replacement. He wouldn't have the charm or the showmanship of Corso, but he would be brutally honest - a characteristic Gameday severely lacks.
3. Barry Alvarez - A legendary coach with tremendous success at Wisconsin. Alvarez could provide a real X's and O's feature to the show. His insight on matchups would be highly respected, and he wouldn't (assumingly) buy into the ESPN propaganda aspect of the show.
Who should not be considered:
1. Desmond Howard - No racist: The guy talks too slow and my first thought every time he speaks is "idget." I think Howard is lost most of the time on the set, and it seems like they are grooming him to become the next big talking head on the set. Much like Emmit Smith, his gig isn't TV.
2. Mark May - Only because Mark May is WAY too serious all of the time. He would be a good asset on the show, and I honestly like May's opinions. He would also give the show the minority aspect it requires. The biggest problem with May, though, is he's boring. Simply put, he doesn't have any personality to contribute to the entertainment value of the show - which is the show's purpose.
3. Craig James - Because he's a douchebag rich boy prick, and I hate the punk.
