BIRMINGHAM, AL (WIAT) - Oakland Raiders rookie linebacker Rolando McClain is being sued by an Alabama student for allegedly hitting him with his car in a 2008 incident.

The lawsuit states that McClain intentionally hit Matthew Mangham with his car in an intersection near Bryant Hall in Tuscaloosa, then hit him a second time throwing Mangham on the hood of McClain's vehicle. Mangham was injured but able to leave the scene.

McClain then left "to secure additional members of the University of Alabama football team to provide an intimidating and menacing presence." McClain and the other players allegedly found the plaintiff and without provocation verbally and physically assaulted him.

Mangham is seeking at least $75,000 in damages from McClain. He claims that he suffered severe and permanent injuries in the incident in which McClain allegedly picked up Mangham and slammed him to the ground, causing oral injuries.

The incident occured on November 13, 2008. McClain was a sophomore at the time. He was disciplined internally by head coach Nick Saban because of the incident. McClain is currently in his rookie season with the Oakland Raiders where he was that team's first round draft pick in the 2010 NFL Draft.

The lawsuit also claims McClain has a "history of aggressive and violent behavior, including previous assaults and other criminal activity."

But it's even worse that the kid waited to sue until Rolando had a big fat contract from the NFL.
