It seems that every night
« on: November 10, 2010, 07:25:20 PM »
It seems that every night a new "explosive" allegation comes out against Cam.  As soon as it is reported everyone in the media claims this is the PROOF that Cam is dirty.  By nightfall, that day's allegations seem to have petered out.

Day one:  Newton pay for play.  By Saturday night this dies down
Day two:  Newton Cheated.  No teeth there either.
day three:  There are tapes.  Well really no tapes, just sources quoting alleged conversations

What the fuck is going on here?

If these reporters actually have the goods, lets see it.  If not go crawl back in your hole.

Pay attention to Mayor, not so much anyone else (when pertaining to info). He has some knowledge that shouldn't be overlooked.

Damn it, sorry about that. I forgot they locked it down to only those to members today. Apparently a lot of traffic today. Anyway I'll see if I can work on that. The particular guys is a mod, and someone that I have known for a couple years; not a whole lot of bs coming from him. He has some info that says Auburn is expecting at least one more article, not implicating Auburn, that may not be well taken by Auburn folks. I tell you what I'll do is just quote his post. I know he isn't going to mind. I know a couple of you here have been there so you can verify dude isn't just full of shit.
Quote
Ok...here we go....I'm hearing that unbelievably, some more Cam stuff may be coming out tonight or possibly tomorrow that is of the audio/video variety. The new info does not implicate Auburn.

Now, I say this risking getting a lot of people in a tizzy over something that might just be another rumor, but that is not my motivation. I say this to remind everyone that there is no way I could know this info if true, if Auburn already didn't....And also to tell everyone to not believe everything you read or hear or see. I've also had several people PM me wanting an update and I just thought I would throw out there everything I know as of 3:00, for the board because of the intensity of our enemies.

Our enemies are desperate to destroy us. You should know that already. If you don't believe there are people out there that want Auburn to fail and will go above and beyond the norm to try and make sure they fail, you're kidding yourself. Add to that, the fact that there are several people...coaches, assistants, journalists...all over the country trying to cover their tracks and they will do so at the expense of ruining Cam and his family and AU's reputation. Ruining those names won't even make them lose one second of sleep to save themselves. Again, they are desperate to save themselves...so we must be desperate in defending ourselves. That's the reason for my post.

According to several people I have talked to, the FBI has gotten in on this case for two reasons. One, they want to know if there is money involved and people shopping football players they want to know about that. Two, there are federal issues involved now because of the academic leakage at Florida. That's against the law folks and AU has a whole staff of lawyers all over this, nevermind the Newton lawyers.

Now, back to anything new that might be coming out, or what you might hear, or even to the accusations of Cam's dad shopping Cam to Miss St. and Cam saying "the money was too good" at Auburn....

I have already said this to some, but unless EVERYTHING I know about Auburn recruiting over the last few years is a complete farce, Auburn did nothing wrong in the recruitment of Cam Newton. I've already told yall I have talked to some parents and players, but since this thing started I've casually been asking some questions to some folks, which to me has only confirmed what I already knew and have maintained. Obviously I will not name any names, but I have talked to 11 players who have been recruited under Chzik and they have all told me they never saw anything sketchy going on at Auburn. Not with them or with anybody else. A couple of them have told me about things going on at other places and they knew where some sketchy stuff was going on, but they never saw it at AU.

I have talked to 6 or 7 parents of players under Chizik and they have all said the same thing. They have all told me on different occasions that they never saw anything sketchy going on at Auburn while their children were there and had never heard anything from their kids that was sketchy. In fact, I have had a couple of parents tell me if they had seen or heard anything like that going on, their kid wouldn't have come to or committed to Auburn.

So, what we all need to remember when we read one of these stories is that again, there are many people trying to cover their tracks. Do you know why the mafia calls a snitch a rat? Because a rat will do anything to survive. If worse comes to worse, they'll eat other rats. They hide in the shadows and are filthy and again, will do anything to survive. We are in the midst of a LOT of rats.

So essentially, we should expect audio to be released to the public that has Cam Newton's voice saying, "The money was too much."

I've heard that it's hard to make out the people talking on the audio...I'm having trouble believing the whole audio/video or whatever, that would've come out at the beginning....I'm guessing this will be considered "breaking news", then we'll find out that the NCAA, SEC & Auburn knew about it in Jan.

I also know from experience that top rated players (rated by the coaches) are treated MUCH differently than just good players.

For all we know, these parents were part of the group of depth chart fillers and obviously would not be getting the money offers from boosters.

Hey man, I understand that and this is not really a source, its an acquaintance, a friend, from another  Auburn website; one that everyone here could go see (you'll have to sign up to see right now but usually you don't). I can't say whether or not he all this is true but I can tell you he is not one to blow smoke up peoples ass. Its just information, I am not trying to imply this as gospel just info. I can also tell you this, Mayor and AUSportstalk (the owner of the site) know their shit on some recruiting. I usually don't post much over there because there are a lot of sunshine pumping and other shit that gets on my nerves but the two mentioned are legit guys.

I found this pretty interesting, especially the part about Cecil Jr's comment, and the part about the so called traffic tickets.

Chizik declines to address latest report on QB4

11/10/2010 09:28 PM ET By JOHN ZENOR (AP)

AUBURN, Ala. -All Auburn coach Gene Chizik would say Wednesday about Cam Newton is that the star quarterback will start for the second-ranked Tigers against Georgia on Saturday after the latest round of accusations. Newton's friend Joe Haden and brother, meanwhile, rose to his defense.

Chizik declined to answer questions about an ESPN report that Newton told a Mississippi State recruiter that his father wanted him to go to Auburn because "the money was too much."

Citing unidentified sources, ESPN reported late Tuesday that Newton and his father, Cecil, each had a phone conversation with a Mississippi State recruiter and acknowledged a pay-for-play arrangement. According to the report, one of the recruiters said Cecil Newton told him it would take "more than a scholarship" for his son to attend Mississippi State.

In a statement, Mississippi State's athletic department said Wednesday that it first contacted the Southeastern Conference regarding "an issue relating to its recruitment of Cam Newton." The statement said the SEC asked for specific information including interviews with university staffers. Mississippi State didn't provide more information until July, citing "time-consuming eligibility issues" related to other sports, presumably those involving basketball players Renardo Sidney and Dee Bost.

The statement said Mississippi State has "cooperated fully" with NCAA investigators, but did not make any reference to the alleged phone calls between recruiters and the Newtons.

SEC spokesman Charles Bloom said Wednesday evening that there was also no mention of the reported conversations in either of the school's reports to the league.

Chizik offered a passionate defense of Newton on Tuesday, calling an earlier report about academic cheating accusations when Newton was at Florida "pure garbage." But he would only field questions related to Saturday's game with Georgia after Wednesday's practice.

"I know you guys have a job to do and I respect that, but my job right now is Georgia this weekend," Chizik told reporters. "I'll entertain questions that have to do with that, because that's where my focus is."

Newton's older brother, Cecil Jr., posted on Facebook that the accusations are false and "a tool for haters."

"With all of the negative publicity and false accusations facing cam, it's nothing more than a tool for haters to use against cam to keep him from being successful," wrote Cecil Jr., who was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars during training camp this year.

"This is just the long bumpy road that leads to an extremely successful season.. WAR EAGLE!!!!" he posted.

Haden, a Cleveland Browns rookie cornerback, said Newton isn't worried about the allegations being leveled against him. Haden lived with Newton for 1 1/2 years and considers his former roommate when the two were at Florida his best friend.

Haden spoke to the Heisman Trophy hopeful on the phone for an hour on Tuesday night. Haden said Newton, who has been accused of cheating while he was with the Gators, "is not letting this stuff get to him too much. He said, 'Joe, I got a plan and everything is going to work out for the best.'"

Haden believes Newton is only being targeted because he's playing so well this season.

Newton transferred from Florida to Blinn Junior College in Brenham, Texas, where he played last season. He has maintained he "didn't do anything wrong" during his recruitment, and has declined to address the cheating accusations.

Newton was arrested at Florida in November 2008 for having a stolen laptop. The charges were dropped last December when he completed a pretrial intervention program for first-time offenders.

A check of public records by The Associated Press found that Cam Newton has had no other court cases brought against him after a series of traffic and driver license violations in 2007 and 2008 in Florida.

An attorney for former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond — who has said an ex-teammate solicited money during Cam Newton's recruitment, said his client has not spoken with the FBI. Phil Abernethy said in e-mail to AP that Bond had not spoken with the FBI as of Wednesday morning, but would not confirm or deny that the FBI was seeking an interview.

Paul Bresson, FBI spokesman at the bureau headquarters in Washington, had no comment Wednesday when asked if the FBI was trying to speak to Bond or his attorney.

Despite all media frenzy around Newton, Chizik said focus hasn't been a problem for his team, this season or this week.

"We stay on the track that we've been on and don't deviate off that path," Chizik said. "It's been a great week of practice so far and I don't expect anything different" Wednesday.

He said "nothing has changed" when asked if he was working backup quarterback Barrett Trotter more in practice just in case.

Meanwhile, Georgia coach Mark Richt said Newton's situation could become a distraction for his own team if the Bulldogs started worrying about whether Newton will, or won't, play.

"We really haven't tried to keep up with that at all," Richt said Wednesday. "I think it could be a distraction to us, so we're keeping our blinders on and studying the film and getting a plan and making sure that we're prepared for him being the quarterback. It could be a distraction for us also if we're an 'is he in, is he out' kind of thing. We're planning on him being in and we're preparing that way."
