I was in the "Fuck, how in the fuck did we hire Chizik?" crowd, but I'll be damned if I'll ever be a part of the type of fan culture that refuses to give credit where it's due, but is always willing to assign blame. If Chizik had gotten the blame for another "mediocre season"...and you can fucking A bet he would have, I'm going to give him credit for what's happening now. He hired Malzahn, and approves his offensive game plans, and makes executive decisions on game day. He directs the recruiting efforts, and in the case of a kid like Newton, gives the executive 'OK' to recruit the kid who, here-to-for, was damaged goods. And don't think for a minute there wasn't some hesitation on their part...remember they didn't really know just exactly how talented he is, or what his exact talents were until about the USCe game. There's plenty more I could say, but if, as has been pointed out, "all the blame for all the issues" such as at LSU has goes to the header, Miles, then in Auburn's case, all the credit for all the good at Auburn goes to Chizik. It's that fucking simple.
