You don't see Chizik getting involved much with AU's offense. And that's not in a bad way. Malzahn has complete control of that, and Chizik quietly chomps away at his gum.  AU's offense is what's winning them games, and you have to give Malzahn the credit for that. The offense is the AU program right now. I promise you that Chizik isn't going around telling Malzahn what players to recruit for the offense or anything either. I mean, I'm sure there is some level of input, but I would imagine Malzahn is pretty much in control of that as well.

Your original quote was bad.  This twisting and mangling of your origninal quote by saying "the offense is the AU program right now" shows you knew it was kind of a stretch.

There is a LOT more going on than, Cam Newton and the offense.  Yes, I agree that the offense is the key making most of it happen, but the support they've gotten from the rest of the team is undeniable.  Malzahn doesn't have anything to do with any of that.

Lastly, I can't be the only one that has seen Chizik consulting with Malzahn at times, not being a "yes sir, no sir" type with him.  He clearly lays out a plan, then lets Malzahn go from there.  Chizik is MUCH more involved than you give him credit for in my opinion.

I was in the "Fuck, how in the fuck did we hire Chizik?"  crowd, but I'll be damned if I'll ever be a part of the type of fan culture that refuses to give credit where it's due, but is always willing to assign blame.  If Chizik had gotten the blame for another "mediocre season"...and you can fucking A bet he would have, I'm going to give him credit for what's happening now.  He hired Malzahn, and approves his offensive game plans, and makes executive decisions on game day.   He directs the recruiting efforts, and in the case of a kid like Newton, gives the executive 'OK' to recruit the kid who, here-to-for, was damaged goods.  And don't think for a minute there wasn't some hesitation on their part...remember they didn't really know just exactly how talented he is, or what his exact talents were until about the USCe game.  There's plenty more I could say, but if, as has been pointed out, "all the blame for all the issues" such as at LSU has goes to the header, Miles, then in Auburn's case, all the credit for all the good at Auburn goes to Chizik.  It's that fucking simple.

But you have to admit coaching William Wallace I mean Cam Newton has got to be pretty easy. Cam can just bend over a shoot fireballs out his arse and defeat the whole LSU army.

"So I want everybody to think here for a second, how much does this game mean to you? 'Cause if it means something to you, you can't stand still. You understand? You play fast! You play strong! You go out there and dominate the man you're playing against, and you make his ass quit! That's our trademark! That's our M.O.... as a team! That's what people know us as!" ~ Nick Saban
