Auburn coach Tony Barbee added a basketball commitment from his old home base Sunday.
Cedrick McAfee is a 6-foot-3, 186-pounder from Melrose High School in Memphis said he would be part of the 2011 signing class, according to Inside the Auburn Tigers. They have the quotes.
Barbee was an assistant coach at the University of Memphis for six seasons.
McAfee played at two high schools last season. He averaged 24 points a game at Craigmont High in Memphis and 14 points at Melrose.
McAfee committed to Florida International last September after a visit by coach Isiah Thomas, but backed off the committed soon afterward. He was also consideirng Memphis, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Baylor.
ESPN ranks McAfee as the 59th best player overall and the 12th best shooting guard in the nation.
McAfee joins two others 2011 commitments -- forward Bernard Monrena and center Willy Kouassi of Central Park Christian in Birmingham.
