Hotel Reccomendations
« on: September 27, 2010, 10:43:16 AM »
A coworker is coming up for the LSU game. He needs to get a hotel for the weekend. I'm not even going to bother calling around Auburn as I am sure they are booked solid after this past Saturday.

Can anyone recommend a nice hotel in Montgomery ? Is there one ? If not Montgomery, are there any places anywhere near Auburn that he won't need a hazmat suit for the shower ?

We've stayed in Montgomery for the last few games.   If you stay on the NE side (East Chase area, Taylor Road or closer to the interstate on 85 on the Eastern Blvd.  You're okay.

We stayed at the Wingate on Eastern Blvd twice and the Country Inn & Suites out on Chantilly Lane the last time.  Both were inexpensive and good.

Make sure that post game they know to take Wire Rd out of town back to the hotel or whatever.  If they screw up and go Shug Jordan, you're fucked for about an extra 45 mins to an hour.

I got the Wingate for 54 a nite on hotels.com, and I got the Country Inn & Suites for 48.  They are ALL newer hotels with flat screen tv's, clean and lots of lighting.

DO NOT let them stay close to the Southern Blvd or anywhere associated with I-65.

I've stayed at the Courtyard on I-85, and it's been fine.

Not sure how much you're looking to spend, but you basically know what you're getting with a Courtyard.

We stay in the Red Roof Inn off I-85 on Carmicheal Road, which is on the Eastern Blvd. exit, all the time when we are making a weekend out of it. Get a king suite on the third floor for $59 a night. The third floor is inside access only and the king suites have a fridge and microwave in them, and also have a sofa sleeper if you have kids. I have also seen LSU fans there every time they come to play us, and it still is a nice affordable place to stay despite that.

Eastern Blvd. has a decent number of places to eat. We like to eat at the Shogun Japanese Steakhouse or Outback when we stay there.

i don't know why but this just seems fitting.

I guess he is coming from the south? Because LaGrange and Newnan are both good options if you are coming from Atlanta.

I don't know why they call this stuff hamburger helper. It does just fine by itself, huh?

"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shitty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

Anyone ever tell you that you're bad luck, Eddy?

You know, those were my mother's dying words.  But I guess a person will say anything with their head stuck in a bear trap.

You can keep a wooden stake in your trunk
On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk
To get motel parking lot, balcony crunk.
