Lattimore > Dyer.
Agree with Wench, negative on this.

Spurrier has been working with shit over there...he's going to work the hell out of Lattimore, as he should. And he's good, no doubt about that. Damn good. I would have loved loved loved for Auburn to have gotten them both.  But I wouldn't say he's superior to Dyer by any means...and by the time it's all over? Lattimore wears Dyer underoos....IMHO

I love the know it alls on here.   No opinions....  Just straight up "facts".   Amazing.

If Dyer was OUR ONLY tailback and had to carry it 37 times in a game, then maybe we could try to make that comparison.   As of right now, it's ignorant to try and factually make these statements of comparison.

Bingo!!!!!! One can't compare apples to oranges when apples have not been in season as long as oranges. There are a lot more offensive weapons on the AU offense then the USCe offense; that is a fact. AU will play the Gamecocks very soon. Even though Dyer may not have the numbers as Latt, you all will see that the difference that Dyer makes = an AU win. Fuck all of you Cock suckers!

Dead nuts on.  Dyer didn't get near the work Fannin and McCaleb did in fall camp.  Lattimore was "the guy" from day one.   Not to mention the fact that they are completely different runners build wise and style wise.

So you're saying that Fannin and McCalebb are both All-SEC caliber running backs?  No way a true freshmen would beat them out in Fall camp because they're that badass?

I'm comparing two average teams with two average starting runnings backs.  One team had a true freshman not only win the job early but now dominates SEC defenses.  The other is still working his way up the depth chart and not seeing time until the 2nd half.

Dyer's great, but it's easy to see he's not as good as Lattimore right now.

Town...  SC didn't have a Fannin, OR McCalleb.  Regardless of what level, or lack of, you try to make them so that you can squeeze out some sort of point.  Lattimore is, was not, in the same situation that Dyer IS in at Auburn.

We're not saying you're wrong, in that Lattimore is a badass, but sayin as a matter of fact he's better than Dyer after watching two weeks and two teams in different stations was a stretch.  That's all.

I hope that Dyer is never put in a situation at Auburn to HAVE to carry the ball almost 40 times in a game.  That doesn't mean that it wasn't impressive, just entirely different situation at SC than at AU.  I would be very impressed and surprised to see him last long at SC health wise if he's needed that way every game.

Latt carrying the ball 37 times a game will wear him down I would think. Garcia seems to have come along but Spurrier will continue to lean on Latt and if he continues to at this rate, other teams will be prepared.

Please.  Shit, folks read whatever they please in to shit.  I said he didn't get the work in camp the other two did.  Reason?  Fannin was supposed to be the guy.  McCaleb was supposed to be the other guy.  Despire what folks are saying about McCaleb, he's doing ok.  He hasn't broken the big one yet, but he's ok averaging 6 yds a carry.  Fannin, just isn't ever going to materialize.   The coaches only have X number of hours a week to practice.  The starters get the bulk of those reps once it's known they'll be the starters.  Fannin was the guy.  Talented though he (Dyer) is, coaches always defer to experience, until it's proved that younger talent can do a BETTER job.  Sometimes that talent doesn't get the chance to prove that in camp.  He may show flashes of it, and it may get the coaches attention, but in the backs of their minds they coaches are always thinking "but this isn't a full speed SEC opponent looking to kill us".  Shit changes...you can't simulate that.  Lattimore stepped in to a position where he had nobody ahead of him other than Miles and Giles, both only Soph., and only with a combined 170 carries last year.  There wasn't much doubt he'd compete for the job, and likely be given enough reps to win it if he was able.  Dyer, wasn't.  It's that simple.  He'll start getting the now though, you can bet on it.   Will Lattimore be "better"?  He may be more valuabe to his team...he might even be better.  Dyer is pretty damned good.

And with Newton at the helm, with his ability to improvise, the discussion of which is better will be lost due to Lattimore being the main cog of Spurrier's O.

IMO, I don't think we will see Tatelike carries from an AU back under Malzahn's system. We are deeper and more talented now. McCalleb can get wide and Fannin is a very good receiver just as Zachery can burst around end. Whatever works!

I do think that most RB's have to get into a comfort level or rythym much like a QB. But, our young Dyer just might be the type that can function in this circus with 5 totes in one game or twenty in another depending on the opponent. We know he has good hands which adds to his value and I particularly like his toughness inside after contact. He doesn't stop and it almost takes two to stop him cold.

You got jumped because you are boartitz. I don't think Newton will be running up the gut 35+ times a game either but I do see your point.

I did, and after sending a few texts with them, followed by my conscience feeling like I was punching my ticket on the bullet train to hell, I erased them all.

Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.
