Gotta gives my quick report from Friday night. I texted both Brian and Wes during the game but apparently they were to busy DRINKIN' LIQUOR and SMOKIN' DOOOOBIES to respond. Yep, eNrique only played QB. I was very surprised by his arm. Extremely accurate and incredibly strong. At one point, I believe he was 5-5 and 2 TD's. He made several eye popping runs from the shotgun. When he wants to go from point A to point B, he just does it...in a hurry. It was 35-0 midway through the 2nd quarter. He was pulled and I would estimate he had between 250-350 all purpose yards. Hard to keep up with it. I would have to say, this is the best pure athlete I've ever seen on a high school football field.
Two things. First, anyone notice the sign at JHS for eNrique? Showing the love. Second, a Bammer moment at the game. I'm standing at the fence and this guy comes up and stands right next to me talking on the phone and decked out from head to toe in King Crimpsum. The conversation went as follows....and I promise, I do not embellish here at all.
"I ain't kiddin' ya, this kid is bad ass. They ain't let him throw it. He ain't throwed it not one time. (That was when he was 5-5). I thank we got a good shot at him. All Sabin's gotta do is go talk to him. Hell, why wouldn't he want to come. Won't be this weekend cause he's takin' off fer Southern Cal right after the game. Yep, he's flyin' right out as soon as the game's over. Must be nice. He's sumpin'. He's gonna' look good in Crimson."
