(AP) — Evan Crawford had a near-perfect final two innings, striking out five of the seven batters he faced to earn his first win of the season and help Auburn beat Davidson 8-7 on Wednesday.Trailing by two runs heading into the bottom of the ninth, the Auburn baseball team scored three runs off of Davidson closer Mike Frongello to complete a two-game series sweep.Auburn looked to be in control from the start, putting up three runs on five hits in the first two innings. Davidson made it a one-run game with two in the top of the third before Auburn extended its lead to 4-2 with a run in the bottom half of the frame.Davidson then struck for a five-run top of the fourth and allowed Auburn to score just once more, holding onto a 7-5 lead until the ninth.Frongello took the loss for Davidson, allowing three runs on two hits and two walks in 1.2 innings.Auburn continues its eight-game home stand tomorrow with the first of a four-game series against VMI at 6 p.m.
