The Houston Chronicle's John McClain believes the ankle injury suffered by RB Ben Tate in Saturday's preseason opener could be season-ending.McClain is hearing that Tate's ankle is broken. The Chronicle's columnist Jerome Solomon also cites a source close to Tate as saying the injury "does not look good and could be major." The Texans are expected to have an announcement on Sunday. What seemed like a newly deep backfield suddenly looks like the Arian Foster Show after Tate's injury and Steve Slaton's fumbling issues resurfacing.

Triple fuckity FUCK!
Quadru-fucking-ple fuck!!!!
Severe Sprain. It'd be smart if he's in Dr. Andrew's office first thing Monday morning. He could play, towards the end of the season, if they need him.
Prowler is in the right area. From FB:Ben Tate Thanks to everyone for your prayers and wishing me well!!! i didnt break my ankle i can tell you that but thanks to everyone
I thought I saw on the NFL network scroll last night that he would need surgery?
I'm guessing that the NFL Network possibly has some old news....unless Ben Tate having surgery on a sprained ankle is the same as being fitted for a boot.
Texans rookie RB Ben Tate's season-ending injury included a fractured right fibula, in addition to torn right ankle ligaments. The second-round pick is almost lucky to have so much time to recover, because this is a significant injury. "He should be back playing next year," coach Gary Kubiak predicted. "It's a big blow because we were counting on him a great deal. He's a good-looking young player, but he'll be back."
