I haven't watched any of their games, but in perusing the scores of our SEC brethren it looks like we ought to waltz through most of the season.

UK
Tennessee
Miss State

Possibly Arky
Possibly LSU.

But yeah no one has looked more dominating than us so far.

Wes, you jinxed us maaaan.  We had to pull that one out last night.

My biggest worries of this year Free Throws and 3's

This team thinks it's the team from last year and they aren't. We really don't need to live by the 3 like we did last year.  This team has tremendous defensive skills and really we have the size to work the shots inside.  Really hope they start to see that, because we fix those two things and we "will' be a force to be reckoned with.

While I agree let me say this. Furman is a solid solid team. They already pantsed South Carolina this year. They beat two final four teams last years from the previous years tourney including the defending national champion Nova. Should we beat them? Yes. But they are sneaky good and have a precedent for doing what almost happened last night. They aren’t scared of big boys. Credit to them - they were scrappy. Gurley and Mounce gave us fits all damn night. Add to all that, we had an awful night from behind the arc and at the stripe. Those off nights will be less than our “on” nights. I liked the fight we showed. I liked Bruce standing up for his guys in the face of many bad egregious calls and taking a T for the team. It fired them up. I liked a lot of what I saw despite the very bad play for most of the game. Take the W and onward to sec play.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit if we see many of these teams Auburn has played making some noise in March. It seems several of these teams have added to their 2019/2020 with transfers from other well respected b-ball schools. The commentators have made mention of these additions especially concerning South Alabama and Furman.

I would have to image that the 11 day layoff was a factor as well.  Again, as already stated, we need to get Wiley the ball more often.  Fix our free throw shooting too.

If I had one critique of BP's teams, it's that more than 5 days off the court makes them look like they all just met each other.

I'm sure "rust"  is a problem for everyone, but I'm picking nits.

Yet lost to Penn and Delaware or someone up there where the states are small and crowded.

Does anyone think if auburn had it to do over, last night would happen again? I think we severely underestimated that team. I think andy kennedy mentioned that as well.

basketball is funny that way. You can’t overlook anyone. Ask Duke.

The only guy who seemed to make a bold pass to Wiley was Purifoy. And we know he usually don’t think before passing!
Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Big game tonight! Spread is 8.5 o/u 152. Dont hit foul shots we lose. Either way I won't care. 4 750ml bottles of Crown for 60 bucks today at pubelicks. If we win I will probably feel like a loser in morning. :aubie:

This was the only pre-conference game that worried me.  Big time quality opponent who whipped out ass last year.  Great win but....gawt damn....please hit your free throws.  Not even a game if you do.
