On the off-chance that the fairy tales ain't bunk
And Imma keep a bottle of that funk

Re: Basketball thread
So what you are saying is that we should pick carefully which game to go watch.

Because for any given game they could either win...or lose?
Five statements of WISDOM
1. You cannot legislate the poor into prosperity, by legislating the wealth out of prosperity.
2. What one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving.
3. The government cannot give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody else.
4. You cannot multiply wealth by dividing it.
5. When half of the people get the idea that they do not have to work because the other half is going to take care of them, and when the other half gets the idea that it does no good to work because somebody else is going to get what they work for, that my dear friends, is the beginning of the end of any nation.

Re: Basketball thread
For all the joviality, that was a fun game to watch and it illustrates what the future is eventually going to be like.

About six minutes left I told my daughter LSU had one more run left and if we could survive that we'd win.  They did. Got up by one.  Then we hit a wild shot and pushed back.  Game over -- even if the refs did try to screw us with that asinine traveling call.

We played hard.  Didn't do well rebounding, had some possessions that were out of control but unlike past games we pulled it together and hung in.

I was happy with the effort.  Happy with the win. One more recruiting class and we are gonna fudge some shoot up.

This.  Next year may be better but I still expect a struggle.  Keep in mind that really the only one of our starting 5 that returns is Big Head Bowers.  Akeem Sham-A-Lama Hussein Machmud Shadeen is a solid contributor and Jordon Granger has done some decent things recently.  After that, we're basically starting over with a whole new set of recruits.  Granted, these are supposed to be vastly more talented than what we normally get at Auburn, but still, they'll be freshmen.  Not Kentucky freshmen.  But, if they are as advertised and Pearl pays for...err...signs another class like them....said shift will indeed be F'd up.

Some of our recruits are McDonald's kids.  One of them was promoted to fry cook just last week.

That's when the big bucks start coming in.
"Hey my friends are the ones that wanted to eat at that shootty hole in the wall that only served bread and wine.  What kind of brick and mud business model is that.  Stick to the cart if that's all you're going to serve.  Then that dude came in with like 12 other people, and some of them weren't even wearing shoes, and the restaurant sat them right across from us. It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

AU played good tonight even though they lost. The defense is pretty good. We are one scorer away from being a top SEC team.

Tough loss. Hard to beat a team that shots 50% and hits their free throws.

One more thing, Bowers will be fun to watch in person. Also, the AU crowd is getting mad props from many commentators. Its said to the loudest at least in the SEC.
