Re: The Walking Dead
I was in shock until I watched the talking dead. Them not having Glenn on the show and not putting him in the people that we lost on the show makes me think he's gonna make it somehow.

It was a fantasy by Nicholas while he panicked on top of the dumpster?  In a future episode he'll "snap out of it" and Glenn will be there to save his ass again?

possible.

he slides under the dumpster.

uses the flare.

scrambles out and climbs the fence to the left.  or uses a sewer drain under the dumpster.

Hadn't thought about that possibility.  That's why they pay you the big bucks.

I'm thinking along the lines of this, at least the sliding under the dumpster. If any of you have it recorded, go back and watch where the intestines get pulled out by the walkers. Little too high up on Glenns body dont ya think?

Re: The Walking Dead
So, the whole show last night was to explain how Morgan became such a weirdo.

Thinking that was Glen on the walkie talkie at the end of the last episode.

Re: The Walking Dead
Wow. Epic.

Best episode in two seasons.  Takeaways:

Glenn is becoming Rick: take charge, do the right thing, badass survivorman.

Morgan has a reckoning coming now that Carol's on his ass, and I imagine he finds a way to integrate his eastern philosophy with his need to survive.

The Alexandrians continue to prove to be fudgeups.  Spencer, you gigantic douchebag.

Sam is going to play some role in stopping the Wolves.  Creepy little Children of the Corn motherfudgeer.

The slow buildup to the tower falling into the fence was pretty great.  Missing the big picture (the sawing of the tower supports) for the details (the blood flowing through the bullet hole) was kind of ham-handed, but effective.  I wonder if we see Elvis the psuedo-scientist play some role in defeating the Wolves since he seemed focused on the sound of the sawing in the tower.

Glen and Enid are going to encounter the Wolves (with whom I assume Enid is familiar, if not a member).  I think they'll play it as Enid holding Glenn hostage until they can break away from the marauders.

Re: The Walking Dead
As promised I quit the show.  I do keep up somewhat with the events.  As the show is now in its mid-season break, let me ask you this.  When I left the show, Rick had just murdered WILTF's husband and Lennie/Morgan showed up as he did it.

Since that time, what exactly has happened in terms of story advancement?  Chinese boy doesn't die, the stupid wolves attack for no reason, they hatch the dumbest plan in the history of humanity to draw a zombie herd away from the town, the fence falls.  That about it?

Re: The Walking Dead
Pretty much, although the last 2 minutes of the season finale set the stage for the eventual fight with Negan.

Re: The Walking Dead
I keep wanting this show to be good.  So I caught up.  Not overly impressed.

Then last night.  A mix of emotional meandering and raw carnage.

Saw many of the things I don't like such as dumb decisions galore.  Michonne has proven twice that if you disarm and disjaw a couple of zombies you can walk unnoticed with your pets.  Why in the hell put on the gumbo ponchos when making slaves would have been much more efficient and safe?

But anyway.  Glaring dumbness aside?  That was an episode that delivered. No way can it keep up that intensity but I thought it was a spectacularly gruesome episode.

Yes I'm tired of immortal Carl and Teflon Glen getting saved in the most improbable ways.  But still. That was compelling.

I enjoyed it.  But I fear we will soon return to navel gazing and I quit it again.
