Re: The Walking Dead
Man, I was totally shocked with Carol shot Rick, and then put a strap on, and donkey punched Hershel.

I never saw the love triangle of Michonne, Carol and Merle coming. Merle can use that stub hand pretty good.

Re: The Walking Dead
Daryl will be back.  He'll have trained Merle to be civil and then they'll realize they need supplies.

Rick's done lost it.  Gonna be worse than the governor, but we have to root for him.

I think Daryl will be back to but after Merle is killed, probably by Daryl. Rick, from what I hear from those who have read the comic version, does venture off to the dark side a little bit.

Don't spoil it if you've read the comics.

I could see Merle doing something stupid to get he and Darryl killed.  Like try to raid the Woodbery arsenal or something.

I haven't read them but from what I have read, Daryl was never in the comic book.

No.  We don't.  He needs a good beating to knock some damn sense back into his head.  I know he's experienced serious trauma but who hasn't?  I expect more from his character.

It's like they couldn't completely kill Lori and had to start channeling her dumbassery through him.

It was gross, and they were all stinky and dirty.  Then dude starts talking about eating his body and drinking his blood...I almost lost it.  That's the last supper I'll ever have there, and I hope he dies a horrible death."

I am hoping they're doing this for a good reason because right now it seems pretty dumb.

I couldn't agree more.  This turn of events was disappointing; I had thought after that last "call" from Lori where her voice faded-out to static (incidentally, static is an improvement for Lori) that Rick would pull himself together but it's turning into more silly-ass melodrama.

Which was my point.  We expect more from him.  We want someone to beat his head in so that he comes to his senses.

Do you feel that way about the governor?  Or Merle?

We're rooting for Rick.

I agree with this.

The Lori angle is stupid.  The phone call pushed it, but I didn't mind it as a moment of closure.  Seeing her in a nightgown with a shadow across her face was pointless.  It'd be better to just make him a total asshole with no love for his son or daughter and no care for how others feel.  We'd get it.  We'd understand just fine that he was losing his humanity because of the death of his wife.

Right now, Merle is on top of the most wanted list. I can think of several gruesome ways I would like to see him killed off.

The calls were in the comics played out over a longer term.  He also talks to her quite awhile (several calls) before he ever realizes it is Lori

I don't think they played the governor role up enough, he isn't crazy enough in my opinion, especially for Michonne to specifically want to kill him.  If you saw what he did to her in the comics it makes sense but not in the series.

I like comic Andrea way better than series Andrea.  Spoiler....

Interesting to learn that about the "calls"; I really thought, like others, that they were leading to closure on Lori.

Regarding the Governor; well, he is English; I think that's about as crazy as they get short of going full-on Monty Python.

Andrea certainly is interesting...just not dark enough...and I'm not speaking metaphorically here...I mean dark...

The Governor in the comics did some pretty fudgeed up things to Michonne...things you would want to do to her... whilst she was tied up.  Think what he did to Maggie (in the show) only 100x worse.  This is the reason she goes to kill him.  (She takes, his eye, his arm, and his richard and leaves him for dead)

In the show he really never did anything to Michonne.  We know he sends Merle to kill her, but you would think her anger would be construed towards Merle.  I just think they needed to show him a lot more off his rocker than he is in the show....he is pretty fudgeed up in the comics.

I know they aren't trying to be the same as the comics...but I felt the fact that Michonne ran off specifically to wait for him and kill him was a little out of place (had I not known what I did from the comics).
